i had my first, and hopefully only, fitting while i was visiting over thanksgiving!!!! (other than anything minor that needs to be done on my next trip in march before i take my bridal portraits)
it was sooo great to see it on without a million clips in the back!
take a look...
Wow, it looks fantastic on you! I love that sweetheart neckline!
Absolutely gorgeous!
I have yet to see ANY wedding dress on me without clips. Can't wait till mine arrives in April.
On that note, if I ever decide to quit my job and open a bridal store, I'm going to have most of my sample inventory in size 6's. It'll be my little "niche boutique for the petite girls". I've seen stores that advertise as specializing in plus-size brides, but nothing for us small ones.
really pretty! I cant wait for my dress to be in my size, I totally understand hating those clips.
That is amazing! It really does fit well. Good for you, do you have the accessories and all that? That's fun too!
thanks all! the only alterations are about ½" on both sides of the bodice, about 1" on the hem, and of course the bustle which will be a french bustle...i lucked out! and it definitely needs to be pressed!!!!
@jennifer espos: i have my necklace for the ceremony (its my something "borrowed"...a simple strand of pearls that my dad gave to my mom as a wedding gift when they married 31 yrs ago) and my ceremony/reception shoes. i'm wearing ivory 3½" heels for the ceremony and changing to brown 2" heels for the reception. i'm still trying to find earrings, garter, and necklace to wear during the reception. since i'm not changing dresses i want to change into a fun 'statement/vintage' looking necklace for the reception. during the ceremony i am wearing the veil that you see in the pic with my hair half up and wavy then after the dinner and first dance i am taking my veil off (it will be bustled during dinner and dance...never realized you could do that!) and pulling my hair into a side ponytail with a fun clip. .
on that note...does anyone have suggestions for a cute 'statement/vintage' pearl necklace that i can buy for somewhat cheap?! i have looked everywhere (nordstroms, saks, banana republic, jcrew) and nothing has struck me yet. and cute pearl earrings that aren't too dangly (if thats a word) since my hair will be down....
Gorgeous dress and it sounds like it doesn't need too many alterations!
