(Closed) fine china dilemma… RE: kate spade gardner street green

@bananon21:  Can you get into a physical store to have a sales person help you?  I ask because often the most difficult part of combining patterns is matching the white background of the bone china.  I think that if you can find something that has a simple platinum edge and you can match the whites, you’re golden.  You’d need to do something like that in person.

The other option is to go completely different and get silver-plated or sterling serving pieces.  My mom, for example, has matching serving dishes for her china, but at Christmas we often have way too many side dishes, so the silver comes out.  Yes you have to polish it, but if you use it often, you have to polish it less.  I’ve been looking at vintage ones for myself because I think that it’s a great idea!  Plus, the “odd” way that I was raised led to me liking to polish silver because it meant that a holiday or special dinner was coming.  lol

I really like the china pattern you’ve chosen.  The green is really unexpected and fresh.
