Yes, I have that problem too. But my fingers also shrink a lot in the cold. I got my ring sized to the cold size so it isn't loose but sometimes when it's hot, it's really hard for me to get them off and they leave a dent in my finger. I would rather have that than a really loose ring though.
@persianprincess: I have the same problem. I didnt get my ring sized, but i am now married and thinking I will go do it.
It was so hot on my wedding day that my hands swelled so much we didnt use my ring!!! and just othe other night i was taking a hot bath and couldnt get it off as my finger got all poofy! Im going to get it sized this weekend :)
I have the same issue as @MissAsB. They swell when it's warm and shrink when it's cold. We got my e-ring a bit big and then had sizing beads soldered into it so that it will accomodate both.
You know, it's interesting cause from what I heard, I fully expected my ring to feel way looser when I went back to the cold northwest winter weather over the holidays, but honestly it didn't feel any different than it feels here. Although, that could be because my ring is too loose already, even in the warm weather here. Maybe I will notice a difference once it's better fitted.
Oh my goodness, I thought I was the only one!! When it's cold, my e-ring almost falls off it's so loose. When it's warm, it kind of hurts because it is so tight. If anyone has a trick, let me know!!
We got engaged in June and over the summer my ring was pretty night. Sometimes it would get uncomfortable and I would take it off. I decided to wait through the winter months before getting it resized. Thankfully I waited, because I think if I'd had it sized it would be too loose.
Luckily my fingers don't change in size THAT much, but I wanted to get it sized smaller and waited until the end of summer. Just to be sure that in the heat I'd still be able to get it off. Of course now that it's winter, I freak out everytime I wash my hands to make sure I don't throw it in the garbage with the paper towels!
@lynzlu077: I googled for a pic of sizing beads so you can see what I'm talking about. It's great. When it's cold, it makes the ring fit perfectly and it doesn't spin at all.
When it's warm and my fingers swell, there's room for my finger to expand.
@Theresa90405: Do the sizing beads feel uncomfortable at all? I'm thinking about getting these for mine because it's still a bit big and tends to spin a lot, but I'm worried about them poking into my finger and causing irritation.
@cleve_girl01: It felt a little strange at first. But after a couple of days, I got used to it and now it feels just like any other ring.
@Theresa90405: Thanks so much! Have you noticed if it helps keep your ring in place better?
@Theresa90405: That is brilliant!
I have both the swelling/shrinking issue and my knuckles are a bit big compared to the base of my finger. So in order to get the ring over my knuckle, I have it sized a little bigger, which means it just spins around the base of my finger when my hands are cold. I think I will look into these sizing beads!
@Theresa90405: That is so cool! I'm going to look into them.
We just got engaged in December but my ring is a little loose, its not falling off or anything but its pretty loose. My rings do swell A LOT when they're warm though so I'm waiting to see how it goes in the summer.
@cleve_girl01: Yes. It totally prevents the ring from spinning.
I'm such a genius. My E-ring is sized to fit tight, which makes sense b/c it's worth a lot more. And my wedding band fits slightly looser so even if I"m swelled up I can get it on and off.
Recently I had both of them on and ate a cheeseburger and fries and had to run my hand under cold water to take the e-ring off. It worked though!
Mine are sized so that they aren't super loose when my fingers shrink. That means that when they swell, my rings are a little tight (but not uncomfortably so). I sometimes have to run my hand under cold water to get them off though (to shrink my fingers back down).
I had sizing beads added to my ring (the jeweler did it free of charge). The ring was loose and kept turning to the sides. The beads allow me to still be able to get the ring over my knuckle if my fingers swell, but it keeps the ring snug and prevents it from turning.
