They are BEAUTIFUL!!! Good job, girl! And yes... probably crazy! haha :)
@csperry2: Thanks! Yeah, I mentioned doing another pair to FI and he rolled his eyes and went back to typing away on his computer, haha.
You can make a pair for me if youre that interested in making a second lol
Freakin amazing!!! I'm going to send you some shoes to put some red ones on there for me, so I can have some sexy versions of Dorothy's ruby slippers! ha!
Thanks ladies! I'm so proud of myself for finally finishing them! I refuse to wear them until the wedding. Well, except for walking around the carpeted apartment so I can pose in front of the mirror with them on, haha.
where did you purchase your crystals? real I assume.
Gorgeous.....my favorite color. Just beautiful.
@cheryl.watsonwurtz: Thanks! They're Swarovski if that's what you mean by real. I buy them from Dreamtime Creations. They're awesome. You can earn free stuff with their "points" and get free shipping with orders over $75. They also pricematch.
Love them, you girls are so motivated to actually take on these shoe tasks.... Go you!!!
I think I'm certifiable... I bought another pair of shoes and ordered about half of the Volcano crystals I'll need to start a second pair. I can't wait until they get here. I only have a crappy picture of the new shoes, but they have such a cool shape.
Here are what the Volcano crystals look like on a pair of Loubitins.

I think FI's pretty sure that I've lost my mind.
hahaha AWESOME job!! I'm right there with you...i'm about done with my pair...and i'm kinda addicted!! I think I wanna do a pair of sandals!!
@CrispyRN: Thanks! I considered sandals for the second pair because they'd be cheaper (less crystals) and faster but ultimately I decided to do another pair of pumps. So much for saving some money... What colour would you do the sandals?
@luli29: @MrsWilson2012: Thanks ladies!
@Ivyperks: Yeah, they're similar. I used lots of different sized crystals to give it more of a glitter look than the all one size, though. I considered doing a small clutch to match but since I'll have a bouquet for the ceremony I'm not sure it's worth it. Damn crystals are expensive! Haha. We'll see though, I never dreamed of doing a second pair and yet I'll be starting on them as soon as I get the crystals in the mail!
@Aure: I used crystal AB for my pumps...honestly i'll probably just use my leftovers...I have quite a bit haha...but now that you pose the question...it'd be fun to do a different color...
@Aure: Bad picture - but I used different sized crystals too. The bag took forever!
@CrispyRN: The AB crystals are so pretty, I don't blame you for wanting to do a second pair of them!
@Ivyperks: Ah, I opened the picture in a new window and I can see it better. How big was the bag you did?? I'd probably do no more than like a wristlet size!
@Mrs.KMM: Thank you!
@thepainter: Thanks! I'll be wearing them with this dress in ivory. I'd be lying if I said the shoes didn't influence my choice of a tea length dress. :)

Oh. My gosh. These came out beyond amazing!!! I don't know if I'd have the guts to do all over crystal but damn, you have me wanting to!! Just gorgeous.
Awesome job girl!! I am totally with you...Im 95% done with my 1st pair...and Im already scouting out shoes for my next pair! I can't wait to see how your next pair turn out!
@misskittykakes: You have to post them when they're done!! I'm so excited to start my second pair. The crystals came in yesterday so I think tonight is a wine and crystal Friday night in, haha.
@Aure: Do you take custom orders? ;)
P.S. LOL at kittay!
I think these are my favorite pair of strassed shoes on the bee :) That blue is just gooorgeous. Also, your cat is super adorable :3
@BayStateBride: LOL No, not yet at least! It took me 6 months to finish these (though part of that was having to wait to buy crystals). I'd have some really unhappy customers wondering where their shoes were!
@MabelleBliss: Thank you! And thanks, he's a bit of a ham, haha.

The update to DIY Cobalt Crystal Shoes.
To give a brief overview, I strassed my Jessica Simpson Oscar pumps with varying sizes (5ss, 7ss, 9ss, 12ss, 16ss, 20ss) of Cobalt Swarovski Crystals. I used Gemtac glue with a syringe and applied the crystals individually with a jewel setter. I also followed Miss Fox's lead and "Pimped Out My Wedding Shoes." I added some Martha Stewart glitter to the soles with Martha's Decoupage and foam brushes. I used black glitter because the original soles were black and I wanted to add to the strassing, not distract from it.
Full disclosure, I finished my shoes about two weeks ago but hadn't had any time to do a photo shoot! So, here they are!
When I cam back inside one of my kitties, Zulu, wanted to join in the photoshoot fun, so here are a few gratuitous pics!
So now that those are out of the way... is it crazy that I'm already plotting on strassing another pair with Swarovski Volcano crystals for the rehersal and/or reception? ;)
