Congrats!  I ran back in May and almost died!  But it was worth it.

Wooohooo!  I have my first one coming up in January.  I’m doing a couple of 5Ks within the next month, and then a 10K at the end of October.  Hoping to squeeze in a ten-mile race in November, but it might be too cold!

P.S. I think 2.5 hours is a great time!  That’s actually around what I’m aiming for. (I’m training for an 11-minute mile for the half)

I bow to all you runners. I’m sitting here trying to motivate myself to lose the post-wedding weight and trying to pick my poison regarding cardio =]

Congrats!!  You’ll always remember your first half marathon.  And 2.5 hours is a very respectable time.  I’m working on getting my time under 2, but it’s taken me years of practice!!  Be careful though, these races are incredibly addictive!!  Next thing you know you’ll be signing up for a full!!

My first half-marathon I was at 2:00:08… my goal was anything less than 2:00 so I was completely devastated… missing the mark by only 8 seconds. It was frustrating because I saw the finish line clock and it was 2:04:something so I figured “hell, 4 minutes over, there is no way my chip will be under 2:00!” so I slowed down at the end!!! UGH! I will never forget it.

You will only get faster if you keep training and keep pushing yourself. Work on sprints and you will improve. One factor is always the weather, though, but I am sure you don’t have to worry about that as much in San Diego as I do in Wisconsin ๐Ÿ™‚
