Woohoo! It was actually really fun :-) Our pastor is AWESOME, very laid back and understanding, and respectful of the two of us as individuals rather than being a bit pushy. He is actually rather liberal as well (was cool with me being Mrs. NDBee-Mr.ND and changing 'this man and woman' to 'these people/these individuals'). Horray!
Mr.ND and I got to talk about a few things, which was nice, but it was also stuff that we'd discussed before. After 8+ years together, you mention about everything at least once. LOL. I'm so excited for our pastor and his family to come up here and do our service, it's coming soon!
I just wanted to encourage any bees (Lutheran in particular, I know denominations can vary) that the prepare/enrich exam and the sessions are not bad or awkward. We found them to be a great check-in with one another, and it was nice to get real-life advice from our pastor (he's about 8-10 yrs older than us, so it all seemed liked very relevant advice). Be honest in your screening answers and in your discussions, and it can be a great experience :-)
