Bring your shoes as well as any undergarments you plan to wear!

The shoes that you are going to wearing are a MUST, so that the dress can be hemmed to the appropriate length. You also need the undergarments that you are planning on wearing, again if you are wearing a padded bar the dress will be taken in less than if you were wearing no bra, same goes for any kind of slimmer or spanx.

Personally I would ask about some bustle options and let the steamstress show you a few, dragging the dress around all night is going to be a pain in the ass, also with chiffon you’re asking for it to get ripped.

@MsGinkgo:   Is that a sweep train?

@MsGinkgo:  Yea so you pay by the bustle point, that is probably why she was try to sell you on a 12point one. I would ask to just see a simple over bustle.

I just had my first alterations appt yesterday and I have a sweep train too. Asked about the bustle and she can bustle a portion of the train but said we will need to do a tuck ourselves with a couple of safety pins because there wasn’t really anything else she could do. I also brought my shoes obviously, and undergarments and bra cups to be sewn in.
