Hello, bees! I’m in a bit of a bind here. me and my husbands one year anniversary is coming up on Sunday and I have no idea what to gift him. I was going to surprise him with a short weekend trip and he was thinking the same thing, so we planned it together which is great but it’s left me at a bit of a dead end.
I know the first anniversary is the paper anniversary and I am so lost.
I found an amazing card to give him but I want to do something more.
I know you bees are extremely clever and creative so do any of you have and good ideas?

@JemmyGee: I’m planning on doing a handmade pop up card with a gift certificate for a dinner date or maybe his favorite sporting goods store.

@JemmyGee: Paper could be money – give him a stack of cash 😛 Personally, I wouldn’t follow these paper, wood, etc. things. I would just get him something he wants and needs.
However, if you are set on it, did you consider the modern version of the list? For example, for the first year the traditional gift is paper (like you mentioned), but the modern spin on it is clocks (hello, nice new watch).

What about a coupon book? You could make it yourself and have different date nights in there that he would enjoy.

@housebee: He loooooooves Harbour Freight so I could always get his a gift card from there, thanks!
@MrsPanda99: I would love to but him a watch but with his job he can’t wear jewelry Nd since he’s a workaholic, it’d be a waste. 🙁
@orchidaloha: That’s no a bad idea! He would love “I’ll rub your feet” coupons!
@MrsM914: I reallllllllly wish I would have thought about this earlier!

@JemmyGee: I see what you’re saying and my FI’s job is the same way. My parents gave him a pocket watch that he brings with him everywhere. It’s old fashioned, but he loves it 🙂

i know a lot of people that have done sheet music for their first dance song. they had it framed really nicely (: another option along those lines is to have the lyrics laid over a photo of you two. i saw that done on etsy and pinterest a couple times.
funny “paper anniversary” story: my fiance works at an office supply store. last year, a coworker was celebrating his first anniversary with his wife. he knew it was “paper”. what did he buy her? a ream of copy paper. everyone was like, “seriously dude?”
