Okay bees, I need some help. My husband and I have agreed that we want to try to stick to the traditional gifts for our anniversaries. We also want to keep the gift part small because we plan on traveling in some way, shape, or form for our anniversary. We love traveling, and we went to Italy and Ireland for our honeymoon last July. I was thinking that I could find some vintage maps of Italy and Ireland and frame them for him to put in our “office” in our apartment. I have also done a boudoir shoot and made a book of the photos for him. Does that sound like a good idea? Any other thoughts? He likes sports (but I got him sports tickets for his birthday, so I would rather not repeat gift ideas), theatre, reading, traveling, art, board games…

I think you have great ideas already. For our first anniversary, I got my husband a book called “The Vault.” Not very romantic I know, but he loves it! They have it for all sorts of football teams and it’s really fun and interactive, they have tickets stubs and things from different games that you can pull out of little pockets throughout the book and look at.

A friend of mine bought a signed music sheet or her DH’s favorite bands song. I thought that was pretty cool. She had it mounted in glass and he hung it in his man room.

I was planning to do a boudior shoot and make a book for DH for our first anniversary so you and I are already on the same track.

I like your gift ideas! I am also trying to think of what to get for DH for our one year.

I think both of those are excellent ideas!! Do you feel like you need to do more (the boudoir shoot would be the icing on the cake, I’d think!)?
When I think paper I think art for the walls over an experience type gift (like a concert), so I definitely think you are on the right track!

i just purchased a poster for DH for our 1st anniversary! He loves art and although it’s kinda cheesy, the poster spells out love, but phonetically: ehl-oh-vee-ee
we’re also staying at a hotel for our anniversary night and going out to dinner so i didn’t want to buy a big gift.
i like the tickets idea, but i see you already did that!

You can do BOTH traditional and modern gifts in one with a gift certificate for an anniversary sundial. That’s what my husband did for me. He did good that day 🙂

A little too late for my share 🙁 maybe for someone else. My sister in law received a sketch of her wedding dress and his suit. It was so lovely. We had one created too! I love art and my dress 🙂 so it was perfect!

A sketch of your wedding dress and his suit is a great gift. Another gift could be you writing a romantic love letter to him.

I hope this helps.

I got him a night away and we took a road trip 2 hrs away with tickets for a VIP tour of a micro brewery that makes his favorite beer and tickets to that areas minor league hockey game that night. We both love ice hockey. I even printed out the hotel reservation. So he literally got a stack of paper with all the tickets and reservations. I think the VIP guided brewery tour and tasting was the biggest hit!
He he got me a vintage sign from Disney on our anniversary trip that I saw and loved. I can’t wait till put up in our house
