Fiance and I LOVE to dance and everyone knows it, so they are expecting a show when we do our first dance. We’ve been toying with an idea but I can’t decide so I am turning to the hive for help. Here are our options
1) Doing a great dance to our song
2) Doing a great dance to a medley of songs – a waltz, a foxtrot, some high school sway, maybe even some booty shaking – to songs that we like and incorporating our song at the end.
We have a friend who can do a great mix for us, so the transitions would be smooth and we picture about 20-30 seconds of each song, keeping it short but entertaining.
So, what would you do? Stick to your song or do something fun and unexpected??

Do what fits your personality best – I voted for the medley because it sounds like what you really want. If swaying to a sappy love song isn’t your thing and you love performing dancing, I’d totally go for the medley!
We’re doing a little mix of both – we’re starting off dancing to our song, then about halfway through it will switch to a sassy salsa song. Neither of us are particularly good dancers but we’ve been dabbling in learning salsa. We’ll probably be terrible (esp in my dress!) but its going to be really fun and unexpected, so I think people will get a kick out of it and we’ll have a blast.

Ditto to farmersdaughter! Do whatever is YOU! If your guests know you’re more fun and spunky and you give a HS sway they might be like uhhh wow! really? Entertainment from the bride and groom at the reception is always highly encouraged!

Thanks for your thoughts, ladies! I’m really torn, I *think* I want to do the medley and that it would be lots of fun, but everytime I hear our song, I waffle a little…we’re going to make the mix this weekend and play around with it. We have our first dance session for choreography on Monday, so we have to decide by then…
@farmersdaughter – i love to salsa! just have fun with it. if you are having fun, your guests will have fun too!
