Crisis on the horizon ppl! Everyone to your battle stations!
Ok. I know that there are moments you will never forget and moments you will never remember at a wedding. I can honestly say that I don’t remember the first dance song of any wedding I’ve ever been to. Yes, I admit it and I’m praying to God that none of you reading this were hosts to any of said events! I apologize now just in case…
But back to the problem at hand. My BF and I have known from the beginning what song we want to dance to at our wedding. It describes us and our relationship perfectly and we love it. The problem? The only version you can get of it is live! You see, it’s an old song that was done with the original artist and a new artist collaborating at a live event. I know I could just use the original but it’s not the same! We specifically want this version. The two artist’s just happen to be my favorite too!
The song is “Heaven” by Brian Adams and Jason Aldean.

Here is an embed code for Youtube so you can check it out and tell me what you think. I know some of you are thinking (quite loudly) in fact, that this is not a good idea. I understand and even agree that it’s not exactly what you’d expect for a first dance song what with the background noise and everything. But we love it and can’t even think about using another song as a substitute. If anyone knows of a way to get a version that is not live I will be eternally greatful! I really really really want to use this song! Much love from us to you<3

I’m pretty sure its impossible to get a non-live version as thats the only time it was sang. They didn’t record the song together. Are you opposed to using the original just by Bryan Adams?

First of all I want to say…
I AM a HUGE fan of Bryan Adams!! I also am soooo jealous you get to dance to him, my bf doesn’t like him as much 🙁
On amazon you can buy the Bryan Adams cd that has the song Heaven, but I don’t know the other singer. They might not have ever recorded it together in a studio.

I just listened to it, and I think it is fine! It is your wedding, if this version is what you want, dance to it! I am a huge proponent of the bride and groom getting to do whatever the hell they want on their wedding day so long as it doesn’t affect their guests (i.e. outdoor wedding when it is 20 degrees? not cool. dancing to a live version of a song? go for it).

Thank you ladies:) I think I just needed to hear it’s okay from someone other than the significant other! Unfortunately I’m a big second guesser:(

I just listened to the song…couldn’t at work. But I think it sounds good. Not really live with lots of screaming sounding at all. Definitely useable. Heaven is actually my first dance song too but I am so in love with Bryan Adams I am just using the original version.

First – if you like this version best, I think it will be just fine for your first dance.
Second – LOVE Bryan Adams. I’m actually really really hoping our first dance will be to a Bryan Adam’s song also – “Please Forgive Me”. Just trying to decide if the title will turn people off, even though the song is romantic. but I guess we should just take my advise to you and do what we want 😉 I’m also using the DJ Sammy remix of “Heaven” for our slideshow

I love this as a first dance song! So beautiful.
If you are uncertain about the clapping bits, which really are few and far between, there might be some free software online that will let you fade out that part a bit if it bothers you. I used to have one on my old laptop, but I don’t remember what kind it was. However, I think it is fine great as is!
