I know this post has been done before...but there's might be some new ones out there.

What's your first dance song?

We are having a heckuva time figuring this one out!

Thanks!

Better Together - Jack Johnson

We also thought about:

Come Fly with me - Michael Buble

Fly Me to the Moon - Frank Sinatra

But we are doing a choreographed Foxtrot, and we're getting married away, hence the "Fly" songs

We're between:

Daniel Bedingfield: If you're not the one

Lonestar: Amazed

Enrique Iglesias: Hero

These are all rumbas, apparently.

Our first date was on New Years' Eve, so although our wedding is in July, our first song is What Are You Doing New Years' Eve.  Our band thinks that is quite funny.

We were high school sweethearts once upon a time so our fisrt dance song was a nice cover of Playground Love (originally by Air, covered by Phoenix) - The original Playground Love is the song that weaves through the film The Virgin Suicides... It's a great tune :)  The cover by Phoenix is more acoustic/rustic sounding, but the original is pretty dreamy (just maybe harder to dance to)

Just to bump this topic up and also to share my excitement that we finally picked our first song!!!

It's going to be "I Have and Always Will" by Dave Barnes.  It's a perfect slow dance song for us since FI doesn't dance AT ALL (it's quite hilarious actually to see him try...) It's the first song I've had FI listen to that he finally loved, yay!

Here are the lyrics: ( I tried to copy the lyrics, but it put in the extra html code, so I just posted the link below)

I think we're going to use Bowie's "Kooks" - the lyrics are here:

We weren't going to have a first dance because we're both a little shy about it, but I think this song sums us up pretty well... and it's short!

We're planning to use That's All by Michael Buble.  I love the lyrics and it's really slow so that we can just hold on to eachother :) while at the same time being short enough that no one gets bored.
