Until our entrance at our reception, our first dance choice was "Everything" by Michael Buble we even took dance lessons.
But the truth was "God Only Knows" by The Beach Boys is something we've danced to at home for over the past 2 years anytime it comes on tv (it's the theme song for "Big Love" on HBO) and the words were perfect for us from the moment we first heard it and my hunny drops anything he's doing comes over to me and starts dancing with me.
Even when I had my accident and couldn't stand or walk, he would "bed dance" with me (sit on the bed, hold me like we were dancing and sway back and forth while singing to me), and so, literally 2 minutes before we were to be introduced to our guests at our reception I had one of my bridesmaids run up and tell our DJ that I wanted the song changed to "God Only Knows"
It was perfect! I can truly say when the music started and we took the floor, the entire world melted away and disappeared. There was only the two of us and I have never felt more loved. (makes me get teary just remembering) It's a moment that I'm so glad we had and that we went with our heart.
What will you dance to during your first dance?
We will be dancing to "Happy" by Josh Ryan.
