We are planning to do “Then” by Brad Paisley- so beatiful! But if he doesn’t like country, have you considered “All of Me” by John Legend? That is my backup choice, but my FI does like country and wants “Then.”

EDIT: I know “All of Me” is piano based, but it is really easy just to sway back and forth to something like that, rather than actually have to dance to a beat.

Check out “What I’d Give” (Remix) by Sugarland. (It’s on YouTube). That is what we are going to dance to, the lyrics are perfect.

My FI and I struggled deciding our first dance song as well, but we have chosen Little Big Town’s song “Sober”. It’s a bit quirky but the lyrics are sweet and the song itself is nice to dance to. We’ve played it during our dance lessons and has fit for a first dance really well!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2gK1mLbJKE

This is a guitar song, medium-tempo, countryish feel but not country, that seems to be very popular at weddings right now:

God gave me you- Blake Shelton

i think that might be up your alley!

Edit: I just read that your fianice does not want country! How about “I don’t wanna miss a thing” Aerosmith. Very sweet song! Maybe LOVE from Michael Buble, “let’s stay together” Al Green. These are all very different songs! Let me know if you need more suggestions I have songs for days on my phone lol.

Come What May from Moulin Rouge. FI are doing How Do I Live by Trisha Yearwood, but that’s country, otherwise I recommend it! Out of your choices I love When You Say Nothing At All, although I like the Ronan Keating version.

I really want to have the instrumental of Slow Love Slow by Nightwish as our first dance song. It has guitars, bass, and is neither too fast or too slow. The only thing is it is kinda long so it would probably need to be cut off at a certain point.

What about “I Wanna Love You Madly” by Cake? It’s about as un-country as it gets but very fun and upbeat.
