@Pikachu42: I think people might say this one is cliche in the AA community, but my FI and I didn't want something contemporary. This is one old and young can relate to (plus we are both old souls). Al Green 'Let's Stay Together' or Chaka Kahn's 'Sweet Thing.' But if I did do contemporary, I would pick 'Golden' by Chrisette Michele. Love that song.

We got married in Jamaica so we went with Erykah Badu and Stephen Marley "In Love With You" as our 1st dance song.
Listen to the words of "Lady" by Kenny Rogers. I originally had another song in mind but my husband said this song's words described how he felt to a T so when I heard it I cried (and I STILL do every time I hear it!) so it ended up as our First dance song =)
Our first dance was to "So Amazing." I think Luther Vandross originally sang it but we danced to the Beyonce and Stevie Wonder version.
Our "first dance" song is In my hands by Jaheim. He says the song reminds him of me. We danced to it this past summer and he sang it to me while we were dancing ( he isnt the best singer) lol but i loved it, made me cry. Good luck
I have narrowed my list done to a few choices:
Our first dance song is Kem Share My Life. And we will have a "couples" song later with is O'Jays Forever Mine. This is one of our favorites as well as our parents.

Our song is Musiq Soulchild "So Beautiful" but we also considered Chrisette Michele "Golden" and Nat King Cole & Natalie Cole "When I Fall In Love."
SADE- By your side however we are going to do somethng totally unlike us both, we plan on taking tango lessons so we wont dance to the entire song. Me and DH can get down but Tango will be a challenge and I know no one will expect it

Hi Ladies!
My DH and I are trying to pick a first dance song. Well, he's picking it as I left music up to him, the problem is that the songs he picked, in my opinion, are cliched and have been done by everyone in the AA community. He picked songs like Lifetime by Prophet Jones and Love U 4 Life by Jodeci. What are some of the songs you guys are dancing to?
