Our first dance was 4 & half minutes long so we danced a bit to ourselves - about 2 mins of a rumba we got taught and then we signalled the bridal party to come dance with us on the dance floor while I got my dad and my husband got his mum.
Other people got in on the action and started slow dancing with their partners too :)
Our was like 2.5 minutes, and that felt long to me! At one point I was facing my MOH in a way that no one else could see my face and I mouthed to her "longest song EVER!!" I just don't really like being the center of attention though.
I have a friend who had a long first dance song, and she just had the DJ gradually fade it out after two minutes, so that's always a possibility!
