Got mine done for the first time a few weeks ago. It was what I expected as far as the pain goes, but find a person that you're comfortable with. The place I go to is really clean and the woman the does mine talks so it isn't so awkward.

good luck! I'm too much of a chicken to get a wax, but I want one. But I also want to get my ears pierced too and that'll never happen!
I did my own bikini wax and waxed the peach fuzz (the kind you see when the sun shines on it) off my upper lip. Today I attempted to wax my legs. I did about 1/4 of my right shin before I had to stop. Bikini line ain't NOTHIN compared to a leg! Take advil and never wax in the days leading up to your period when you're pain threshold is lowest. I wish I had the courage to get a brazillian!
Thanks for all the advice guys! It went pretty well (as much as an appointment to inflict pain upon yourself can go). I actually almost jumped straight in and did a Brazilian, but I figured I'd stick with the baby steps since they said it hurts less the more you do it.
Next time I'll do a Brazilian, and everyone was right about it hurting less the farther you go back. I found that the more "intimate" areas didn't hurt as much as the leg crease close to the pelvic bone.
I have to say, I'm definitely happy with the results and bet I'll be even happier with a Brazilian. Not sure if it's something I'll keep up with for years since it costs a decent amount, but it's fun for a little bit.

I'm getting my first ever bikini wax today. I think I'm starting with a bikini wax with the hope that I'll be able to stomach it and get a Brazilian or an "inbetweeny" for the honeymoon.
I've read the previous boards about what to expect, but I'm still nervous
I suppose I shouldn't be though....I was sooooo nervous for my tattoo and I shouldn't have been. I'll pop my Advil and suck it up, I s'pose!
