I’m having my dress made by a tailor friend of mine, and I gave her a photo of a dress I’d liked and had saved on my computer for years for her to replicate as best as she could.
The only changes we agreed to make to it would be that the straps would be wider and the bust cut straight and higher (modesty is of utmost importance to me and FI). We weren’t able to find any lace/stones that matched the dress in the picture exactly, so she made do with the available materials.
It’s not finished yet- she has to cinch in the waist and then afterwards finish attaching the sash (she was waiting to measure me again- I’ve lost an inch in girth and with tighter underwear will “grow” smaller. The sash is just attached to the dress on the left; she says if she attaches it before she re-sizes the waist, the sash might end up skewed. Our aim is that the sash not hide my hips for all the dancing we’ve planned ).
I apologise that the picture doesn’t show the bottom of the dress- I’m too tall to have the whole of me show in the mirror. Next fitting I’ll stand in a better-lit room and have someone else take the pictures
From the info above and the bit you can see, how well did she do in imitating the modelled dress?
(Note: I’m not asking if the dress looks nice- because it obviously does and I LOVE it! )
