Bees … I just got married yesterday but my wife status hasn’t really hit me. I can’t explain it.
Did this happen to you as a newlywed? When did it really set in?
Also, any other June 1 brides out there reading this?

It takes some time to get used to it. Congrats!

@Bunny_the_Bride: Congrats!!! I would say it took a little while to set in. Hilariously, for me, all the of the honey moon stuff was booked in my name, so people spent the whole honeymoon calling us mr. and mrs. mylastname. So that didn’t help with the sinking in that things were a bit different. For me I don’t think it fully sunk in that we were finally married until a little while after we were home again.

@Utopia4us: Thank you! That is cute that they called your husband by your last name. I guess it will sink in soon enough for me 🙂

@Bunny_the_Bride: it took months for the whole “wife” status to sink in. at around 6-7 months, my dh said something to me about himself saying “your husband is very good at this”. i actually looked at him dumbfounded. it took me a minute to digest the “husband” part of that sentence.
i finally got used to it when he started to ask me every day, “how’s my beautiful wife?” i think he did this to get me used to the status.

sometimes it still hasn’t hit me. I’ve been married year. LOL. I still get all giddy whenever my husband refers to me as “his wife” in public. I love it!!! I’m such a nerd.

aw I was a 6/1/12 bride, so as you were getting married, i was celebrating my 1st anniversary 🙂
i think it hit me that we were married about 6 months in, when he got me a card ‘for his wife’ for my birthday. sometimes i still cant believe that i’m actually a married lady, but i noticed lately when people call me ‘miss’ i always think to myself ‘that would be ma’am!”.

Well, because my DH and I were long distance for our entire relationship and, because of our faith, we had not shared any intimacy with each other beyond kissing prior to our wedding night and had never slept in the same room, etc., I started to feel married very quickly after our wedding, lol.
I kept looking at my wedding ring and my dress, which I hung on the outside of the closet in our honeymoon suite at our hotel before we left for the Caribbean, and my veil, which I suspended from the bottom of our canopy bed, to continually remind myself that I really was married and allowed to be there, haha. 🙂

I’ve only been married a little over a week, and it still hasn’t fully hit me that I am married. At work today someone passed me in the hall and said “Hi Mrs. Hislastname.” And I thought, holy cow, I am now a MRS.???? I totally was okay with the last name change, but now I’m a MRS. forever and hearing myself be called MRS. was strange! It was so weird to hear that. I guess I hadn’t thought about the fact that I will no longer be a MISS.
