I look forward to the day when this sort of thing won’t even be a story–just one more military man getting married.  But I’m glad that at least these guys are no longer needing to sneak around to be together.

That article made me weep.  It’s about time that those two men can express their love for one another in the way they want to!

im proud to say i served with the first gay man to marry his spouse after the repeal of dadt, lt. gary ross. i was starstruck, and wanted to commend him on his feat, but i did not want to have improper conduct between him, a commissioned officer, and myself, an enlisted servicemember. i must say that he is a really cool guy tho, very knowledgeable as well.

This is a great story.  I still cannot believe how intolerant so many people are, though.  I grew up in such a welcoming community — to all people — that it boggles my mind how people survive amongst the hate directed at them.   =(
