I know it's utterly utterly wrong, but I was adding some glasses and saw that someone had bought our 20 piece crate and barrel place setting collection!

I am sooo happy! I don't know how to add things without looking at the registry. :) I am so wrong, I know. Did you look at your registry?

Hahah. Just tell yourself you're keeping the registry stocked for guests to have a nice selection, and leave it at that!

Seriously, it's impossible to stock the registry without peeking at what has been purchased. I'm guilty... I just snuck a peak today while adding some silverware!

Oh my gosh, yes, I checked it quite a lot!  And I totally felt guilty about it.  I don't know what it was that possessed me.  Mostly I felt shocked and lucky that people were actually purchasing these things for us. It was very "I'm four and it's Christmas" feeling.  I got excited when someone bought the $10 veggie chopper, so it wasn't really the gift, I think it was more the idea that someone would get something just 'cause you said you wanted it.

Hehe - I am a ways off from this point (11 months till my wedding) but I know I'll be the same way and I don't think I will even have the decency to feel guilty about it.  Then again, it's still kind of a surprise - you don't know who bought it for you yet!

Girl- We look at our registry ALL THE TIME to see what new items have been bought.  We are 4 weeks out so it is exciting to see what we have coming our way in just a few short weeks! I am with you- I know it's wrong, but it also so much fun to look!

We just received our first gift in the mail this week, but I knew it was coming. I was adding stuff into the registry the other day and saw someone had bought an item. I felt so bad and greedy for being so happy First gifts off registry! : wedding Icon Redface

I have yet to register, my wedding is still quite a few months away.  I see nothing wrong with seeing what people have gotten.  However, my new sister-in-law was kind of rude whenever she got a gift off her registry at the shower.  She would literally look at it for a second then toss it aside.  She admitted that she doesn't like getting gifts off the registry because she already knew they were coming.

I'm all for checking up on the list, just fake surprise or something when it comes.
