We did a first look and would do it all over again. I was nervous on the big day, and it really helped to calm my nerves to see him before the ceremony. I think it actually made my walk down the aisle more enjoyable! Plus we just got some really great photos and it was a really special moment to have together, in private (or as private as you can be with photographers and videographers around) instead of in front of 250 of our friends and family, haha.

Plus, logistically, it made our day flow sooo much more smoothly to do ALL of the photos before the ceremony. That meant the bride, groom, and bridal party got to go straight to the party after the ceremony! 🙂

Our ceremony is at 6:30pm. We are doing a first look and hopefully getting ALL pictures (getting ready, bride/groom, bridal party, parents/family) before the ceremony even starts.

@ssbridenc2014:  we did a first look! I’m so glad we did. We did it at the wine bar where we met for the first time on a blind date. He was even sitting in the same stool where he was that first day. 🙂 I have some super beautiful photos, but you can also see it “in action” on our short film. It starts at about a minute in. 🙂

Our wedding was at 4:30. We didn’t do a first look. Sometimes I think it would have been easier, but I just feel like it made the moment of walking down the aisle more special for me. I’m very traditional. Haha. I love how all of the first look pictures look, but I wanted the first moment hubs saw me to be when I walked down the aisle. And this is what I got.

So glad we did a first look, no regrets about it. DH and I got to see each other for the first time just the two of us (and our photographer), and it was… Beautiful. walking down the aisle was just as special, and we got the most amazing photos beforehand.

I can’t say for sure since out wedding hasn’t happened but we won’t be doing a first look. I spend all this time finding a dress and keeping it a secret, why ruin all the work for him to see before the wedding. Not that I really believe in the ‘bad luck’ of a groom seeing the dress before the wedding but IMO why spend all this time keeping it hidden to show before the wedding. I want a cumulation of all the work and anticipation  to take his breath away when the church doors open and he sees me coming down the isle to be his wife , I want that to be the first moment and he agrees.

I was against it but my photographer (and good friends) talk me into it. I’m getting married in 5 week so I’ll let you know. But I see the practicalness of it but it was the panic feeling of the walking down the aisle seems easier now.

Yes we did a first look and it was wonderful to see her reaction right up front, I would definitely do it again
