We’re doing a first look. I could care less about tradition. I’m excited to have a special first moment just the two of us. That way he can see me in my dress and we can exchange a few words in private. I’m really excited about it!

We did it and I loved it!  It gave us private time together before the ceremony (you won’t have time alone later), time to get great pictures, and the walk down the aisle was still so special!

@MrsSaltWaterTaffy: That’s great to hear that you did it and loved it! And that the walk down the aisle was still so special. That seems to be a big argument aganist first looks, that it ruins the suprise. Personally, I think the walk down the aisle will be special no matter what! 🙂

Yup it was amazing, all I saw was him and time was all slow and I didn’t hear a thing!

After seeing first look pictures, I totally want a first look.  Walking down the isle can be everyone else’s first look of me,  but we will have our special moment together where we can ‘be ourselves’ when we see one another, rather than having to behave!

    I had a similar experience as @MissAsB

We did a first look and took a ton of pics with our parents and wedding party before the ceremony.  It was so much more relaxing after the ceremony!  My walk down the aisle was still so special– I didn’t hear the music at all… I was just concentrating on looking at my smiling DH.  🙂

Here’s a pic my MOH took of my walking up to DH for our first look.

I would like to because I think the pictures you can get from it are amazing. Plus, we could enjoy more time with our guests at the reception. My fiance doesn’t want to see me before the ceremony…so we’re undecided!

We were going to wait because I thought it would make the aisle walk more special, but one day FI brought it up out of the blue and suggested we do a first look because he wanted it to be a private moment in case he got emotional.  It was so absolutely sweet, how could I refuse? 🙂

No way – as we’re walking up the isle is our “first look” I’m even moving out on the day before the day before the wedding – so that we don’t see each other – I believe it’s bad luck!!

We are doing pictures before the ceremony, so we will have a first look.

We picked out our dresses together, had them altered together, and got dressed together, so it wasn’t going to be a big surprise anyway.

I assumed we’d get a chunk of photos out of the way, pre-ceremony, and discovered last week that my FH wants to sleep apart the night before and not see me until I walk down the aisle.  Total shock!  I never thought he’d be old-fashioned like that, but it was a pleasant surprise.
