I did my first mixed martial arts class on Monday night (it’s now Wednesday morning) and I’m still SO sore!! On the plus side, I’m really happy with myself for finally getting off my arse and doing something active! I’m hoping to lose a few kilos before the wedding next year, so here’s hoping I can keep it up (and that the pain eventually goes away!)

Much better now! Though it’s a Sunday now and I’m half dreading, half excited for tomorrow’s class. It was really really good! Kinda strange at first, because the rest of the students there were all experienced and really fit, so it was tough to keep up, but the instructor was good and let me sit down whenever I needed to. Then, at the end, he just took me to one side to work more on basic techniques while the others did sparring.

I’m so impressed that you’re sticking with it! I attended a hapkido class at my gym many years ago, and was so intimidated by the greater fitness/experience/ability of the other students that I gave up and never attended a second session. And I reget letting my fear/insecurity get in the way of improving myself – if I had stuck with it, I’d probably be much fitter today. Go you!

My Fiance is an MMA instructor. It’s a great class to take – keep up with it and I promise you will see great results!
