I'm so excited to be a bee!  I will admit to being a stalker for the past few months and have finally decided to join the hive!  My fiance and I have been together now for 5.5 years and are planning our Sept 25,2010 wedding.  I work as a florist and am so excited to finally be planning my own wedding!!

We are having fun DIYing but I'm wondering-  which DIY project do you wish you would have paid someome else to do?

    Thanks bees!!

Welcome to weddingbee!  Glad you decided to show yourself!

I didn't really do much DIY for my wedding because I didn't have time so I can't answer your question but I'm sure others can!

Welcome to weddingbee! So far we haven't done to much DIYing, but I am sure we will have wished we had some one else do our invites! Or atleast had them printed on before they were shipped! lol

But most of all the food and the cake! I am planning on us and family doing the food and me doing the cakes! I am beyond nervous about it now, so wish us luck! haha I hope you get better answers

Thanks ladies!!  We have ordered our pocket invite pieces from paper and more and are printing and assembling them.  Everything I liked ended up costing between $7-11 a piece and I could think of way better things to spend that money on! (ie- espresso bar!  woohoo!!).  I am also, obviously making the flowers and centerpieces myself since it's what I do and the motto has officially become "go big or go home"!!  I can't be outdone in the flower dept!  heehee!  Other than that, we are leaving it up to the pros- since I work in the wedding industry I have great relationships with awesome vendors but the flowers and invites/std's alone are making me go mad!!  eek!

Welcome to the hive!  Good luck with all your planning.  So far all of my DIY stuff has gone well.  I am doing my own invitations (which turned out awesome and were fun to make), and I just finished making my cake topper, which I am totally in love with.

I am planning on DIYing my flowers and centerpieces as well, as using a florist would eat up my budget, and I am pretty sure I am going to wish I had paid someone else to do it!

Unlike MsTerrapin, my invitations were a pain in the butt! I wish I would have just ordered them from Etsy. I am DIYing a lot of the wedding, so maybe I am just getting burned out? haha Good luck with your planning :]

Welcome to the hive!! I had a DIY epiphany once my FI and I postponed our wedding... I realized my DIY projects were costing me more in time & supplies so I am now buying everything. I'm putting that time into my relationship instead now!

I'm also embracing semi-DIY. If I get the DIY bug (I'm a crafty person, so it's bound to hit!) I add a little touch here or there to something I've already purchased :)

Ms Terrapin- I don't know what flower prices are like in MD, but I can usually beat the fifty flower prices in my shop.  Check around- smaller shops are great!  It's not as easy as it looks and if you're working with fresh you don't get a do-over.  I'd be happy to offer any advice if you'd like.  Good luck to you!!

@shunnedbride-- I will do a little more florist searching to see what is within budget!  Thanks--  I may hit you up with some questions about flowers!

Welcome to the Hive! That's my boy's birthday, so I think it's a great day to get married!

My wedding is forver away, so I haven't done any really planning yet. So no DIY advice here. But I a a DIY queen, so I pretty much want to do everything myself. Except I think I have given up the dream of sewing my own dress. Too much stress before the wedding!

Welcome! We haven't gotten to our DIYs yet, but I think when we make our own invitations for the 300 people we're inviting, I'll be wishing we had a pro to do it for us! :)

Welcome to the boards, the more the merrier :)

I wish we had decided to leave our invites to a professional, they are turning out to be one of my most dreaded projects! Who knows, after we get our g-list narrowed & do some mock ups maybe we will get them printed at a pro's.

We still plan on diy'ing our flowers/decor/appetizers for the most part. We'll see how crazy it gets closer to the crunch!
