First tidbit from a former bride to be wedding addict (okay I am only a former bride to be I still love weddings lol!!!) If anyone is telling you that the details are not important, think again. They are what make the day special and worth remembering. The first picture is of my napkins. I couldn't afford chargers so we ended up placing them on clear glass plates with a belly band made of paper and a wax seal. My mom actually made the seals and enjoyed it so much she opened up an etsy store.
I gained many ideas from the hive that I just HAD to incorporate. One of which was the "when they become Mr. and Mrs. Blow bubble kisses verbiage" I lucked out and got my bubbles from another bride who didn't use them and quickly made a sign from paper left over from my invites. My mom bought this frame for 1.50 from Fred's...

I have always loved submerged orchids... Some of my favorite shots and inspirations for my former business came from the Hive. I was able to utilize them for my ceremony decor.
Here they are lining the railing for the deck area....

The theme of my wedding was chandeliers, feathers and brunch.... Here are a few ways that I was able to make these things come to fruition.... (Thank you Mrs. Star for selling these to me!!!)

My black aisle runner was the pez de resistance. I had to have this and luckily since my company sold these I was able to have it specially ordered. It was actually a gift from the artist that makes them. Love her!!!

a better shot of the runner...

It was very important to me to have linens and chair covers because I believe that they transform and complete the look of the event. I love this shot!!!

Here are our tablescapes all put together. Everything that you see on the table was either diy or diy-esque. We worked on a miniscule budget (some of the women's dresses here cost more than my wedding... in the words of Mrs. Scissors Le sigh)... However DIY is your friend and you can make any budget phenomenal if you put your money in the proper places. Our favors were .80 each from Michael's dollar bin and we had an extra coupon for 20% off.

Here are the feathers portion of our chandeliers feathers and brunch...

If you have children, please don't forget about them!!! These little coloring books were found at Michael's and came with the crayons. They weren't wedding related at all and still were a big hit!!!

A picture of the entire reception all set up. For some reason my aunt was in there. I have my ideas on why, but I'll save it :D

Another shot of the great favors. People loved them and I barely had any left but am glad I did because I wanted some for myself lol!!!

I think I got this verbiage from the Hive as well... My sign in said "Please give your best advise and well wishes for the new Mr. and Mrs."

Here's my fantastic card box!! The guests didn't even know where to put the freaking cards though!! Thank goodness for my scrapbook hostesses...

It's like candy.... Our simple candy buffet.. There are a few details I was missing like the candy buffet tags... Oops!!Definitely get things like this done beforehand because I kept thinking I would have enough time, well.... time ran out lol!!

I love the fabric draping at the end of the aisle runner. Everything looks amazing--congratulation!!
your details are AMAZING and do not look like they were done on a tight budget... good job! did you splurge for real orchids or use fake ones?
again, everything looks great and you should be very proud! i have been struggling to find affordable chargers and after reading your post i think that i might just rent nice linens like you.
@hilsy85: Thanks girlie!! That's my favorite part of the aisle. I saw a picture on a website and knew I had to have that to frame the river view. It was stunning and perfect.
I love the feather centerpeices. Everything looks great. Beautiful wedding!
Wow, girl, taking it to the next level!!!!!! Your details look amazing.
@Future Frett: Those are very fake from Hobby Lobby ;) bought during their 50% off floral sale... A floral snob (like me lol) would notice no one else would have a clue to be honest with you.... I don't believe I splurged on anything? I pretty much made or tried to find a deal on everything... Well... maybe I splurged on the feather clips for my shoes, but they can be worn again so is that really a splurge?! LOL that's what I tell myself when I think about the $42 I spent on them :D
WOWIE CAZOWIE! (lol my daughter has been saying it!) I love everything! Your wedding looks fab!!!!! I love everything!
all of it is awesome!!! and the runner is seriously, amazing! what a great gift!
Absolutely beautiful! Wonderful job crebre! Your pictures and details are just amazing!
Is it strange that it doesn't look like my wedding?! I think that the pictures look like something out of a magazine? Krystal did a FANTASTIC job!!!!! And well.... she's proof that budget photographers do exist ;)....
@MrsGruber23: Thanks girlie!!!
@mszebra: I love them too!!!! I think the pictures are breathtaking. My mom, cousin (bm) aunt and I actually set everything up the night before the wedding. I see the pictures and just see what we did not what it looked like (does that make sense?!) However the outdoor portion I am in love with.
@Mrs. Menard to Be : Thanks soo much!!!
@Miss Tattoo: It looks strange to me, soo... PERFECT. Like I can't believe how beautiful everything was and how beautifully it translated on the camera.
Everything looks so beautiful! I love all the details and you are so right, the details make all the pictures so awesome!
EEEEEEEEEE!
@LindsayB: Thanks sooo much!!!
@HoneyBear: OMG don't they?!
And I cannot friggin wait to put my album together!!! I am pretty sure I will have the pictures back in time to order from Adoramapix for my parents and grandparents as well as my aunt who worked her patootie off for me.
@Aubergold: lol I actually sold the aisle runners for her... PM me if you need info...
@CorgiTales: thanks girlie! I can't wait to see your details come together because if our invites were at war yours would have kicked mine's ass!!I adore your projects as well!!!!
@Saeliz: I am more than pleased with my photographer!! She is fast (I mean I have 50 pix and I got married 4 days ago!!) she took about 1500 shots and I was just thrilled with her.
@moneypenny02: yes, we've done a lot of business over the years and the design was actually a surprise to me. I just knew I had to have a black one because I mean no one does black, you know?
I love your wedding! It seems like the more pics you show the more beautiful it gets. I can only hope that my wedding looks half as beautiful as yours. I really am so happy that my wedding will have little parts of you...and other bee's.
This site really has been the most amazing place and support for me while planning my wedding and crebre you are one of the most amazing and supportive people that have helped me along the journey!
@Nola: Don't forget my photographer lives in New Orleans if you haven't gotten yours yet.... I think the pictures look surreal. Like some great and fashionable wedding. I don't think it sunk in yet that it is my wedding. Although I was in tears the first time that I saw them. I know your wedding will be stunning and if you see that you are in trouble, I will come to New Orleans to help, just say the word and I am there. I love the Hive, even when we disagree we disagree with poise and tact, no matter how laced with sarcasm the responses are lmao!!!!
I still can't believe that I have a husband?!
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW! Everything looked beautiful!! Congrats! I need one of those aisle runners! I want a royal blue one.
@OurWedding: Okay I can direct you to the person who makes them... I am officially out of the wedding planning business, since school, and work are now kicking my butt, besides I lost the fun in it... Let me know if you'd like her information.
Thanks soo much for the compliments! I definitely think it was the best wedding I have ever been too. Especially with the price that I ended up spending on it.... I was very pleased with myself and the Hive for all of the money saving tips and ideas (yes pros learn here as well).
OMG!!! I knew your wedding would be FABULOUS but WOW!!! I am now trying to scheme how I can come up with that curtain draping with the chandelier!! You are so right about the details, they just put your wedding into a different level.
Crebre: I have my photographer and all of her pics look great and she is def a budget photographer and I am so excited to see what she does with my wedding. Who is your photographer though? The one thing I am still searching for is our second line....do you happen to know anyone for that?
That is amazing that you can do all of that on a budget! I was wondering what exactly were your favors? And where did you get your jars for the candy buffet?
YAY...more wedding pictures. I LOVE everything that you did. It all looks beautiful...I can't wait to see some pro pics of you b/c I know they will be STUNNING.
Your wedding is so beautiful. All the details do count and it clearly shows! I can only hope my wedding comes out just as gorgeous!
You did an amazing job! I love the aisle runner and the chandelirs (I'm going to have a few at my wedding too). Congrats!
Wow!! What a gorgeous wedding! I love the curtains and the chandelier, the centerpieces, the exposed brick of your reception venue, your linens and those adorable Winnie the Pooh coloring books!! Everything is so gorgeous I can hardly believe that you did all that on a budget! I'm blown away! Congrats!
OMG, it was so STUNNING. I love all the details, and the framing of the waterfront - GENIUS. I would never look at that a think it was on a budget. I really can't wait to see the rest of the pics. Are the books notebooks? Where did you get those? I may have to steal that idea from you.
Everything looks so expensive! And to hear you did it on a budget makes me feel confident I can do it too. Great job. LOVE IT!
@missbabeski: the favors were from the dollar bin at Michaels. There were ornaments, pens, notepads and notebooks. Basically everything that was purple damask I bought. The candy buffet were jars that I purchased over the years at my companies only one was a true apothecary jar from hobby lobby with a 40 percent coupon most of my jars had broken and I just honestly put the lids on fishbowls and other bowls... Definitely check the classifieds here.
@ja: I can't wait either!!! I saw a few while I was getting my hair done and I loved it!!!
@msj26: thanks so much!!
@trugem: honestly the ceiling was too high to see the other four but I loved them soooo much!
@tomboy: I was able to splurge because I had a brunch wedding, it eliminated lazy guests who didn't want to wake up as well as 1000 upcharge for the evening. I also bought my dress used and diy'd on other elements which allowed me to splurge. I also worked in the industry and was able to barter some items/etc... And the classified's section here enabled me to do soooo much because I just bought things I could have never afforded from thr.
@tks: definitely check the dollar bin at Michaels they are open on Thursday and usually have killer sales. I had to have that framing. I just wanted it. No one understood my vision and I had to find pix before people "got it"....
Kfricke: spend the money where it counts, linens can make or break an event. Dresses are overrated although I would have loved to have a pnina or a few other designers, I ended up with a used dress so that I could get what I wanted. My grandmom made the cake, etc.... I did tons of DIY projects...
So beautiful, just like I knew it would be! You did so many amazing things, and I would never have guessed that you were on a strict budget. This just goes to show that you don't need to break the bank to get the wedding of your dreams, even if it means prioritizing the important things. I agree that nice linens up the "wow" factor if any event.
I can't wait to see more and am so so happy for you!!!
@octoberbride:definitely agree!!! I honestly had to have the photog and I got her for a steal since she is so young and started shooting weddings this year. Everything else was either used or bought with a coupon lol!!!!!! And my guest count was at about 60 or 65 including a large number of kids who had a blast playing at the park across the trolley tracks....
Holy sh*t chica!!! this looks AMAZING! I cannot believe it is "budget friendly"!!! It looks SO glamorous and elegant. Class to the max, my friend!
Congrats on the wedding--it looked lovely! just lovely =]
Thanks for all of the tips on how to pull it together! Being a budget bride I am all about the used and sale items. I have a vision in my head and no one seems to get it :( I am determined though that it will be a beautifully amazing wedding!
Oh, it's so beautiful. And you look amazing. Congrats.
Absolutely gorgeous! I can't wait to see more! :)
I agree with the others- I'm amazed this was on a tight budget- everything is so glamorous!
