Isn't it fun?! I first noticed when a box showed up on our doorstep. It was an awesome camp stove (MSR Superfly) and titanium backpacking cookware from Fi's dad. Such a great gift!

My FMIL randomly buys us gifts off our registry and gives them to us! They're little things (like utensils and cookie cutters) but it gets me really excited everytime.
I realized the first gifts were bought maybe a week and a half or so ago. I was really excited because I kept seeing posts on here that gifts weren't shown purchased on the registry up until a couple days before the shower. My first shower is not for another two weeks.
Now I just need to force myself to stop checking all the time! I'd like to be surprised, but the temptation of looking is too fun.
When I received one in the mail!
A sorority sister of mine had heard about our engagement, and was expecting a baby. Since she knew ahead of time that she couldn't make the trip for our wedding, she sent a card and gift via Target's website.
It snowballed from there.
Well my FMIL purchased our wedding gifts the week after the engagement and had them sent to us. The first time I noticed gifts (not purchased from FMIL) were purchased was when I was updating my registry a few months back, I noticed one of my food processors was picked up =)...
We have a shower in about a month, too. Our first gift was purchased about a week ago... I was adding an item to our BB&B registry and noticed a "1" in the purchased column, so exciting!! It is a 45-piece set of flatware, which I am really excited about. It just makes everything seem so real!

So...I totally should not be this excited. But the first things were just bought off of our registry! I'm totally surprised--we have an engagement party in about a month, but our registries aren't listed anywhere (we didn't want people to think we were looking for gifts). But some people must have looked them up themselves. I can't help but give a little, "Yay!"
(And because I know the hive will be wondering: the first things purchased were a wine decanter and a set of olive-handled cheese knives, both from Williams-Sonoma.)
