I haven’t heard of a false positive on a FRER. Just evap lines.

Do you have a pic?

@Tatertot2003:  they’re testing for hcg. Having it means preg. “False” neg happen often, false pos are unlikely.

@Tatertot2003:  I have never heard of a false positive on a FRER. I would think the other test is more likely to be a false negative.

@Tatertot2003:  FRERs are VERY sensitive, so the other test just might not have been as sensitive as the FRER. If you ovulated and/or implanted late, you might have a low level of hCG that is not showing up on other tests yet. I would try another FRER or wait a few days to test on other brands. Good luck!!!

@Tatertot2003:  Hmm.. a solid 2nd line sounds very promising. FX for you!

@Tatertot2003:  So you are already late for your period? Have you tried a digital test? I would move to that next!

If you took the other test just a few hours after the first one you might not have had as much of the hormone built up in your urine. I really haven’t heard of many (any?) false positives on an FRER. I’m pretty sure the little info sheet that comes with the test says that true false positives (not just mistaking an evap line) are extremely rare. That being said, I also personally never had an evap line on an FRER. It was either stark white or a positive. It sounds like you may be prego 🙂 test again in the morning!

No such thing as a false positive on a pregnancy test.  It detects HCG in your urine.  If there’s HCG you are (or were) pregnant.

@MrsWBS:  +1 , this is what I was taught in all my years of molecular testing. I run basically the same test for other things now and it’s the same way there’s no such thing as a false positive with these types of tests.

False positives are practically non-existant.  Definitely re-test in the AM with FMU.
