I knew with my pregnancies before my missed period. My boobs were a dead give away. They were so incredibly sore, and they were noticably fuller. Other than that, right after my missed period the morning sickness kicked in around the 5 1/2, 6 week mark.

I knew before my missed period too. It felt like period symptoms but when my boobs started hurting, I knew I was in trouble. They started growing right away. I was also really tired, crampy, bloated, needed to pee a lot, and just generally felt icky.

My first sign was that I was completely exhausted and I couldn’t lay on my stomach because my boobs hurt so much.  I didn’t get morning sickness until after I’d tested positive on a pregnancy test.

I am so not one of those “oh I am sooo in tune with my body” people but I felt everything. cramps from implantation, soreness in my lower back, crazy boob growth and tenderness…all before my missed period.

That said, I don’t think its normal…I’d still tell anybody to take a test.

about one day after my missed period, my nose was completely stuffed up and then the next minute it was incredibly runny. i, of course, googled and found that the increased hormones can mess with mucus. who knew?

after i took a test, my boobs got sore and i was incredibly exhausted. and my face broke out (which hasn’t gone away at 19w2d…) but the cold symptoms only lasted a few days in the beginning.

I didn’t put it together in advance, but looking back, I can see the signs. I couldn’t run as fast (my 5k time dropped inexplicably by FOUR FREAKING MINUTES) or far and I was slightly nauseated and really sensitive to the heat.

After 12 cycles, I was really in-tune with my body, so I *knew* before I tested.  The main things that were different for me were my chest (soreness in the center instead of just at the sides) and I was exhausted (falling asleep on the couch every night before 9:00 pm).

FWIW, I just “knew” every other cycle, too… but the one I was actually KU was really different.

I had some weird, strong twinges that felt like ovulation pain a week after O. It lasted an entire day.  I had gotten my tubes flushed that cycle and thought the twinges were some kind of aftermath effect, but now I think it might have been implantation.

Other than that, I only tested because the temperature on my chart had risen a second time. It was textbook tri-phasic and that was my only clue. I didn’t get really sore boobs and nausea until some time around week 5. I have been a bit tired, but never as exhausted as some describe it.

@ForeverBlessed:  No joke, I went up a bra size before I even tested positive. Seriously. Also I had an increase in CM (sorry, perhaps TMI but its the truth) Then my tastes changed, had weird cravigs for cheese and meat not chocolate and cookies like usual. This is all in the week before my positive! I got my BFP at 3 weeks 5 days – super early. kept testing every single day just to make sure…and touch wood it was right 🙂  I think my body just reacted super quickly. I didnt get morning sickness like other ladies get, but I did get horrific food aversions where I would throw up in my mouth. That kicked in around the 7-8 week mark I think.

I honestly believe that a woman can ‘know’, emotionally but also physically becuase these changes actually happened, my body was physically affected, so that’s all the proof that I need 🙂

@septcabride:  I am so glad you said that last part! I am not pregnant, but every cycle since we pulled the goaly has been like, “Oh my gosh, my boob hurts… I bet I am pregnant!”

The month I got pregnant was the month I didn’t have any symptoms. Just regular period symptoms. Sore breasts, a day of crankiness.

Every month before that, I had a ton of symptoms that made me thing I was pregnant, and I wasn’t lol.

I tested positive yesterday 🙂 major symptoms for me were sore boobs that have been sore for about three weeks and a massively increased sense of smell. Everything I smelt was overpowering. I had other symptoms like hot flushes.
