As I'm reading all of these proposals, I'm wondering what most of us said after we were proposed to. I wonder if most of us reacted the same way I did.

Oh my god! Are you serious? Oh my god! Oh my god! ...

After I freaked out for a few minutes, I finally told him yes.
I actually didn't even put the ring on until like 5 minutes after. He actually had to ask me if I wanted to put it on. haha
I just asked FI and neither of us can remember what I said!! How awful :(
Well he kind of fell apart due to nerves at the end, so all he said was "Will you?" And so technically my first words were "Will I what? OH! Yeah!" Lol.

Umm... I actually started laughing out of nervousness. I felt horrible afterwards and still 2 years later he wont let it go.
Mine was No! No Way!
DH then replied, "OK then, if that's how you feel..."
And I started screaming "No! No! I mean YES!"
I thought my FI was just being nice and was sort of kidding because we used to play the "We'll get married someday!" game all the time, though he never actually ASKED me point blank. Anyway, because I thought he was kidding, I was just like, "Oh, sure." Then when he pulled the ring out, I said, "Oh my God...oh my GOD!" annnnnd I pushed/hit him. Oops. lol
It was my birthday and his daughter him and I went out to dinner. It was time for me to open presents so we walked over to a bench by a bed of flowers to sit down. I opened his gift which was box after box until I got to the ring box... i opened it and looked at it for about a minute and said...." Really--are you serious---is this what I think it is?" He said Yes, what do you think it is? Then i giggled for about 5 more minutes which made his daughter giggle too. Finally he said "So, are you going to say yes?" I did eventually say yes. I was such a surprise I didnt react the way I always thought I would.
@Almy_al: I'm glad I wasnt the only one to laugh. I felt horrible afterwards but we still laugh about it.
"You know my answer is YES, but where's my ring"
FI was so nervous he forgot to take it out of his bag (he carry's around this GIANT book bag in the back of the car)
I was in a terrible mood that day, and didn't play along very well with any of his plans. "Let's go to the restaurant we had our first date" - I don't like that place. "Let's go for a nice walk at sunset on the beach" - My feet hurt. "Let's go down a little bit closer to the water" - I'm not wearing shoes for going down on the sand. "Will you marry me?" Shut the F up.
But then I said yes...
He got down on one knee in the restaurant ... and i was like OH MY GOD .. .. uh yes .... yessssss
he said ... duh .. i haven't asked you anything
I think I put my hand over my mouth and said "Oh my God!" and stared at the ring in shock and then said "Yes!"
We had been talking about getting married for a few months prior to the proposal. FH was saying all these really nice things and when he finally got to the actual asking I said "Oh! It's happening, like, now!"
He asked.. "will you marry me"?
I screamed "what?!" and stared at the ring in disbelief.
He waited for a minute and said "soo.. will you marry me"? again lol.. That's when I broke out of my state of shock/surprise.. (In my mind I was thinking really? are you sure? haha) Apparently i looked like a guppy with big eyes and a blank look.
Then I said "yes of course"! and gave him a big hug and made him almost drop the ring lol. So not exactly smooth but it was cute.
@SapphireSun: haha, mine was similar "No f-ing way! Of course, shut up!"
Mr.ND had tons of people in on it (like 30-40 family and friends) and my reaction was 1- speachless (this never happens), then 2- 'Really? Really? Are you serious? This is the meanest joke ever! I will hurt you if you're joking!' and then 3- Ohh, baby. Yes! (finally, he said it felt like forever, haha).
Poor guy, I had to make sure like 4 or 5 times that this was THE PROPOSAL, because it was a total surprise (and he's not very sneaky, so he really did get me!)
When he got down on his knee I said, "Is this really happening?!" before he could even get the question out! The he asked, and I shouted, "Yes!!" Then he just kept sitting down there on his knee with the ring held out so finally I had to tell him to stand up so I could hug him.
When he asked I was so surprised all I could think about and say was "Are you drunk? How many beams have you had?"
When he pulled out the ring, I asked if he was serious. But when he finished actually asking me to marry him, all I could say was yes!
I believe the first words were "Yes..... I need to go put on pants!"
It was raining on NYE and we were having a good night just the two of us at home (had a long week, didn't want to go out afterall), and I was hanging out in underwear and a long tshirt watching movies (its my house, whatever).... he proposed after the ball dropped, and I didn't want to touch the ring pantsless!
Needless to say, no one knows that part! I don't want it coming out at the wedding!
I said ".....Yea...". When he responded with "...yea?!" I said "of course I will!". I wasn't expecting it and didn't respond very enthusiastically at first :)
I kinda knew the engagement was coming, so I was ready with my "yes" when he brought out the ring lol. I grabbed the ring outta the box I was so excited. He said "But I wanted to put it on your finger!" lol.....oops :-P.
These are so cute and some are funny. Keep them coming!
After "yes", I HONESTLY said, "Holy crap it's so BIG!"

Well before I tell you what I said, because it'll sound totally materialistic. Let me give you the full picture. He lead into the proposal with "I need to talk to you about something, I haven't been completely honest with you, I feel guilty and need to come clean" --- So after my heart and mind raced for a few minutes, turns out he had been sneaking away out of town to custom design my ring (he lied about where he was on those days). So he got down on one knee and asked... AND DIDN'T OPEN THE BOX. So I was really snarky and said "Show me what's in thebox first!!!". He of course said "I want your answer" and of course I said "YES!"
Haha these are funny! I definitely had some OMG's and probably a "WHAT?!" thrown in there once I realized what was going on as he was getting on his knee, but the first word out of my mouth once he actually asked the question was definitely "YES!!!"
After that I kept saying things like I was in disbelief, and now it's like the running joke between FI and my best friend who was there taking pics -- "Is this for REAL?!?" lol!
I clicked "Yes" but I'm pretty sure what I actually said was, "Of course I will!"
I think I might've also slipped in an excited "Are you proposing???" in the middle of his speech, hahaha
"Oh, don't do that." I then tried to get him off his knees.
Not my finest moment.
