    Hi bees,

I am thinking about getting some paper goods with an etsy seller. I really like the designs, but her shop is new. Should I be her first customer?? Any thoughts. I like her designs more than anything else I have seen and she is willing to make any changes.

Normally I would say no but in this case it might be worth a try.  I would contact her first and see if she responds, etc.  You have the extra protection of PayPal if you pay that way so if it doesn't show up, you're protected.

Is there any way that you could order a sample first? If so, and you like the product, I wouldn't hesitate! Everyone needs a first.

I agree with PP, ask for a sample! If you are her first customer she will prob bend over backwards for you!

I defnitely agree.  Everyone has to start somewhere, if no one wants to be a first customer then the seller won't ever get anywhere.  I've spent a lot of time on etsy and I have found that the newer sellers are usually very enthusiastic about getting their first couple sales.  Plus, she won't be worried about a bunch of customers only you (more than likely) and you'll have a lot more of her attention and time than if she were established and getting a dozen orders every week.
