I’ve been through it twice and it is much harder on mom than it is on baby.  when you see him thriving and doing fine, it eases your anxiety.  And, honestly, I think it is good for kids to have more than one person who takes care of them, and I think it is good for kids to see that mom works.  Anyway, my kids are 6 and a half and 11.  They are social, happy, well adjusted (despite my being divorced and remarried) and do great in school.  Everything really does work out, and going to work gets much, much easier.  I remember crying when I had to go back, but you adjust to your rountine and so does your baby.  It all works out.  I promise!

I had a hard first day but after that it went really well for me.  Of course, our baby stayed home with my husband after I went back to work so that made it easier because I know he loves her as much as I do.  My parents have also babysat for 5 or 6 days so far and have done a good job.

There are positives and negatives.  Taking care of a baby all day is probably harder work than my own job so it’s nice to have a break to be able to be in a quiet environment without any babies around 🙂  But there are lots of mornings where I don’t want to leave her!

Ours is 4 months and is going to start getting an in-home babysitter 20 hours a week so I’m a little nervous about that.  As long as you’re comfortable with your mom, I bet everything will go great.  I’d love to have my mom watching ours!

I just went back to work 2 months ago, and just now it might be getting slightly easier, just because I know she’s in good hands (her grandmothers take turns babysitting). I feel like everyone brings something different to raising her and in the end it will be beneficial. I also call and get updates every time I pump at work.

Mine both went to daycare and they were fine!  really, as long as you find a place or person you trust, it all works out!  My kids are in 1st grade and 6th grade now, and all I have to pay for is after school care!

eecuadrado:  The first day is always super hard, but it definitely gets easier. I was actually ready to go back to work sooner than I anticipated, and then I kind of regretted it because I missed him so much the first day. I still miss him every day, and I go home at lunch or at the end of the day, and I snuggle the crap out of him. Hang in there, mama. It gets easier and he’s in good hands 🙂

I dread Mondays.  I’ve been back for about 6 weeks and it still sucks.

Now, with school aged kids, it really is not a big deal.  🙂  Except I still hate Mondays!
