Hi! I find this really frustrating as well. I would reccomend a firm e-mail just asking for prices and simpley state that you need prices before any meetings. Its a pain but I found it useful to be as straightforward as possible.
Most of the photographers that we are looking at have prices on their websites, at least their package prices. The DOCs or coordinators usually are service based so it will depend on what services that you are looking for. I would just keep to emails, that way, if they are bad about getting back to you then you know that they may not be the person that you want to work with anyway.
Welcome to the Hive!
Copy paste into an email, this worked for me:
Hello,
I'm interested in learning more about your services for our wedding on _______. Please let me know if you're available for that date and what your price range is. I realize you won't be able to provide specific pricing information until we speak in person, but I want to avoide meeting with vendors I know I am unable to afford, so ballpark basic price ranges would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
If they don't provide prices, they don't get a call. Period.

Hello everyone! I'm getting married in October and we already have a theme, venue, food, cake, guest list and printed invites?
Im a little stuck now on photographers and planners. I want a day of planner because I'm a little OCD and won't relax unless I know someone else is taking care of things.
My frustration is that it seems every vendor refuses to post an estimated price range for themselves unless you contact them. Then a lot of them want to meet you in real life instead of just talk over phone.
Is there a site that lists prices for a lot of these places? I'm not being stingy but I would rather not waste time on vendors that are way above or below my price range. So I've stopped contacting anyone :(
Thank you in advance!
