This is going to be our first cycle TTC. I know there is a thread out there for people who were going to be starting Jan/Feb 2012 but I can't find it, so I thought I would start a new one this way we can all be excited/anxious/confused together!
Anyone want to join??
@peppy: I wanna join! This is our first cycle TTC also. I am all of those things...excited, anxious and confused lol.
I went to the OB Tuesday. My Dr told me it can take the average couple 6 months to concieve. Have you heard the same? I sure hope it doesn't!
I found a really interesting web site yesterday you should check out if you haven't already: www.ovulation-calendar.net Assuming I would get pregnant for the first try, our child could be born October 2, 2012. We were married Oct 1, 2011. How exciting would that be?
This is technically our first TTC cycle. Last month we were NTNT, but we are kicking it up a notch this month :)
I am on CD 12 today.
I'm hoping we'll officially start TTC this month (my next cycle starts around 1/14).
This cycle we were not really trying, but ended up having sex on fertile days while NTNT, so we'll see - I'm about 4 DPO right now.
Good luck everyone!!!!
@Lilyann: I'm on CD 11 today. However, I told my DH that we need to cover our bases so we've been trying everyday for the last week. LOL!
We will be TTC in Feb! I can't wait! I am 36 but we just married in September & I feel my biological clock ticking. Good luck to all of us!
Just wanted to say good luck to you on your TTC journey's! You will need each other and it's so great you're already starting to look for support. Without the bee I would have gone nuts as this can be a very stressful time. I can't wait to see how it all goes for you!
@kentuckygirl: Good luck! It's nice to see another Ky girl on the bee. I work in Louisville :)
@mwitter80: Thank you! You are always so sweet! I've been reading on these TTC's threads. I'm really hoping it works out for DH and I sooner than later. However, I'm being realistic about it all. I'm glad to meet all of the bees who want/need support through our TTC time.
Good luck ladies. I'm so thankful for the boards of ladies who have been around for me, and I'm glad you're finding the same in each other.
Fingers crossed that you'll all get your Big Fat Positives soon - but don't be discouraged if you don't!
@CountryGirl80: lol, I'm sure he doesn't mind! :) I see you got married in October too, the weekend before me. yay!
@kentuckygirl: exciting! I'm almost 34 and I hear ya on the clock!!! We just got married in October!
@mwitter80: awww, thanks! You're so sweet!
@redsmarties: thank you! I really hope this is your month! I've been reading these threads for awhile. It has taken many of my close friends/family quite awhile to get KU, so I fully expect my patience to be tested, though I'd love to be pleasantly surprised! :)
This is also our first cycle. I just got off of BC and can't wait to start trying. Hopefully it won't take too long. Good luck!!
Good luck ladies!!! I was so excited when we finally started TTC! :) I loved being able to come and chat on these boards with other ladies going through the same thing. I think it also helped me from going too-baby-crazy on my husband! :)
Good luck everyone! I'm hoping to ttc soon. I'm stopping bc at the end of this month. After that I'm not sure if we will ntnt or ttc. Our anniversary is coming up so hopefully we will have an anniversary baby (if not before then).
I wanna join this group!!
This will be the first month my DH and I TTC. Although, I'm just coming off of BCP's and I'm starting the charting process (I'm on CD5), we are going to GO FOR IT anyways! I do realize that the chances of us conceiving is low, because of my age (40) and since I won't know if/when I'm ovulating. I'm glad to see that there are a group of bees on this journey with me. What shall we call ourselves??!!
@kentuckygirl: I'm 40 and definitely feel my clock ticking! tick...tock...tick...tock
@mwitter80:@redsmarties:@jaguar:@HopingToBeaMama: Thanks for your positive vibes and support! We'll probably need your advice!
I posted on another board about TTC Jan/Feb
http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/anyone-planning-on-starting-ttc-in-janfeb
DH and I were planning on starting to TTC this month and we BDed 2 days ago but decided last night to wait until next month to really try because of my insurance and I'm ovulating today, so who knows if I'll get BFP this month. But we'll definitely be trying next month. I'm so happy to have other girls to talk about TTC that are going through the same thing! Good luck everyone!
I'm in! We are officially TTC next cycle, February, because I just got off BC for the first time in 6 years and haven't gotten AF yet. Hopefully it will be regular! Good luck ladies.
Thanks @mwitter80:@redsmarties:@jaguar:@HopingToBeaMama - I have been reading on your other threads about you all (in a non-stalkerish way of course).
@CountryGirl80: At my last check up I told my GP we were going to start TTC in January and she said that if I was pregnant after 6 months to come back and see her. It would be cool if you had a baby on your anniversary!
@Lilyann: Hoping this is your month!
@highwire: And you're a September bride too! Twins!
@melisslp: We do need a cool name don't we? I think we are cycle twins - I am on CD6 today (Friday - I am in Australia so a day ahead).
@sarahmc521: Fingers crossed it worked.
This is exciting, there are so many of us.
Looking forward to sharing this experience with you all...
@peppy: My OB told me the same thing. She said if we hadn't conceived after 6 months for me to come in and start the necessary bloodwork, etc. I sure hope it will be quick for us.
I was talking with a friend of mine yesterday who has 4 children. I guess she'll be my childcare guru once our bundle of joy comes along. After talking with her, I got this feeling that it will come sooner than later for us. I want to remain positive...but I'm also being realistic. I know it COULD take us awhile...and I'm okay with that...I'm just hoping it is sooner. Today is CD 12 for me!!! Let the games begin! lol
@CountryGirl80: my cousin and sister have 2 boys each, and both of them got pregnant first go each time. Fingers crossed I will be the same but the sensible side of my brain is telling me that it could take longer... Oh and CD12!! Exciting!!!
@CountryGirl80: It is great to see another KY girl on here! I met a couple of other KY ladies on the wedding boards when we were planning our wedding. I actually live near Bardstown and work in Louisville too!
It is so exciting to see several of us starting around the same time to support each other. It has been awesome to see the other threads and the way those ladies have been there for each other. I am worried about how long it might take us to conceive but am so reassured that there is so much love here on WB!
Let's keep this thread going...
What are you all doing to prepare for TTC? I have been taking prenatals since June (we had hoped to TTC right after our Sept. wedding). I have an annual visit with my OB/GYN later this month and plan to ask her a few questions about TTC. I have put on a few post-wedding pounds and am starting to work on losing them and eating healthier overall. I need to do some research on foods that are high in folic acid because I want to try and get some naturally in addition to my prenatal vitamin.
@peppy: I have those feelings too but I'm trying to stay optimistic. My friends tell me, "don't try". Honestly, how do we not try? Lol I mean, we enjoy ourselves...we always have had a very big sexual connection. I'm really hoping we'll see a BFP on Jan. 20th when I first test, but like I said earier, I am realistic.
@kentuckygirl: Well hello neighbor! lol We live in Lebanon Junction...we're so close! Fun! As far as preparing for TTC. I had an appointment with my OB on Tuesday. She gave me 4 months worth of prenatal vitamins. The first day they made me a little quizzy, but now I'm used to them. I have definitely put on post-wedding weight...but I've gained quite a few lbs since I've been with my DH all together. :( Foods high in folic acid are like, leafy green vegetables, lentils, asparagus, oranges, broccoli, avocados, etc. I need to start eating more folic acid as well!
@peppy: Yay! Yes we are month twins. Awesome! Seems like there are quite a few September/October bees TTC now. I'm glad there are others who were ready to start really quickly after the wedding!
@kentuckygirl: I've been taking pre-natals, quit the BC (obviously), and am working on cutting out caffeine and alcohol (not really a big drinker, but the holidays made me a more frequent imbiber). I'm also working on cleaning up my diet and adding in more fresh, wholesome foods, and less processed junk. Keeping active as well!!
@highwire: I also have been trying to cut back on my caffeine and i did really well for a while but had not been as successful lately. Hopefully when we are officially TTC in Feb. I will be more consistent! I also went of BCP in December hoping to regulate my cycle which seems to be going well so far!
Do any of you plan to chart or use OPK's right away? I don't think I will be a good charter and plan to wait a few months on OPK's to see how it goes first.
I'm trying to cut back on a couple of things. My eating habits and smoking. I hate that I smoke, and it's necessary for me to quit before my bundle comes along. I quit once before, cold turkey...I'm hoping this time is as easy as it was last time.
I started charting 2 weeks ago. I think, for me, it will be easy to chart. I don't want to spend any money on OPK's, unless we try for a few months and nothing comes of it.
@peppy Thank you! That's so sweet!
So far all I have been doing (besides BDing every other day, ha) is using my "Days" app to chart my cycle, it shows me Oing on the 9th this month and cutting out caffeine. I started pre- natals around 6 months ago (mainly for hair/nails) and stopped taking my BC this past November.
I have been trying to watch my CM and see the changes over this past month (before TTC I had no idea about this!). Oh the things you learn about your body when you are TTC!
Although DH and I have only been married a little over a year, we have been together over 8 years, and I really think we are ready for a little one :)
@kentuckygirl: I also have been taking prenatals since this summer. I had an appointment with my endocrinologist to check my blood and it was normal (family history of thyroud problems and PCOS) TG! I am now weaning myself off my anti-anxiety medicine as much as possible.
@kentuckygirl: I'm not charting or using OPKs for as long as I can stand it. I'm hoping it will just happen on its own by BDing around the time I ovulate each month. My last two cycles post-BC have been exactly 28 days apart each time, so i think we are in good shape.
@highwire: I am hoping I wont have to chart or use OPKs either. I am only on my first cycle after BC so I haven't determined if I will be regular enough to do it without obsessing. I hope so!!! Good luck :)
Since the wedding, I have been taking pre natals and I have been charting for 3 months. My cycle can range from 28 to 33 days but it's looking like I normally O on CD16.
@Lilyann: in May, my husband and I will have been together for 11 years!!
@CountryGirl80: Jan 20 will be here before we know it!!
@kentuckygirl: To prep for TTC, I've been taking prenatals since June. I weaned off medications I was taking for migraine prevention and am trying to eat healthier. I dropped my coffee intake to 1 cup a day and am trying to make that cup the "lite" (half caf) variety. I went off birth control in August and have been charting/temping the last 3 months (after reading Take Charge of Your Fertility). I'm learning so much about my body that I never knew... it's actually pretty cool! Oh, I am using opk's now too, even though my doc said to try without them, since I'm the kind of person that likes to have as much information as possible! :) We're going to try Preseed this month. Baby dust to all of us!!!
@78h2o: How do you find the OPK's? I tried using them but I never got a line as dark as the control line and so I stopped using them.
I'm using Clear Blue Easy digital opks... I like them because they give a straight forward result. I bought a pack of 20 at Walmart for $25-30 (on sale, I think). I used 11 tests in the first two months. I could have gotten away with less (the instructions say to stop once you get a positive, but I kept testing until I got a negative again, mostly out of curiosity). So for me, I think a 20 pack should last 3 - 4 months (each test is individually wrapped). I figured it was worth it for my mental health not to have to stare at the lines and justified it by the fact that I'm no longer spending $30 per month on birth control, lol! Also, my sister tried for a year and got pregnant the first month she got a smiley face on the CBE opk's, so she told me not to mess around with the others and get CBE off the bat, lol. I am sure the Wondfo's work well for some people though!
This is basically what I'm using: http://www.amazon.com/Clearblue-Digital-Ovulation-20-Packaging/dp/B002VLYAOI/ref=cm_cmu_pg__header
ETA: I don't know if this means anything, but I had one test that was positive according to the digital but did not have a line as dark as the control... I wondered about that, but assumed CBE's threshold for a positive is different than Wondfo's? They don't tell you how to interpret the lines on the CBE, as the stick goes into the reader (which gives the smiley or empty circle)... I did like that I could see the lines though, because I could tell the line was getting darker, even when it was still negative.
@78h2o: Ooh a smiley face would be easier than comparing lines. I think I will go without this month and then see how I go. Thanks for the link, I am going to bookmark it!
I am on CD9 today... Boring!
I'm 7DPO but no symptoms, so pretty boring here too! Trying not to wonder about it, but that's nearly impossible! :)
@78h2o: When do you think you will test? You might be our club's first BFP!
Hi Bees!
I have been lurking for a bit and would love to join the club! My husband and I are just in the beginning of the TTC process. I am 4-5 DPO and hoping to test on my husband's birthday, at which point I will be somewhere around 13-14 DPO (is that too soon?). If I get my BFP I want to find a fun way to surprise him with his birthday gifts.
It will be so nice to have people to talk to about this process! We are keeping quiet with our friends so this group seems like the perfect outlet.
@RubyCali: I think 13 - 14 dpo is plenty of time! Any ideas on how you would surprise him??
