Hi there! Next week is my two year anniversary and that got me thinking of wedding bee. Congrats!

For our 1st year anniversary I gave my hubby a framed pic of our wedding day as we gaze into each other’s eyes, our forheads touching. I also wrote him a love letter on very nice light pink stationary. I wrote in red pen and even sealed it with red wax and a nice stamp with my initial on it. I got all the supplies at a very nice local stationary store. He loved it! I’m sure your hubby will love what you’ve gotten him as well. 🙂

I didn’t stick with the traditional theme. I found out at the last minute that he was getting me a gift, so I ran out and got him some stuff to use for his round of golf that was part of our anniversary trip. (I had thought the trip would be our gift to each other.)

But, he did a great job. He had one of our enagement pictures that included our dogs made into a 1000 piece puzzle. At the bottom of the puzzle, he had printed “Our First Family”. We’re talking about TTC this fall, so that makes it super sweet.

Daizy914:  Who are you buying from on Etsy? I was thinking of doing the same thing. I’m going to try to do it myself first, but if that failes, I may take a look on Etsy.

We just so happened to be going on a cruise for our anniversary. Well, it’s actually because his mom is getting married and they were extremely generous and are bringing us with them. None the less, it leaves on our anniversary so we’re hijacking that night and celebrating lol. So we probably won’t do any gifts because we’ll be spending money on the cruise.

Daizy914:  We will be going with the traditional gifts too. I plan on giving him tickets to the theatre. Something we both really enjoy

That’s amazing! I may just have to order from them. I don’t think I could make something as nice as that.

We were going on a trip over our first anniversary (I was tagging along to his work conference), so we decided to set a $20 limit on gifts. He got me a wine glass with the logo of the restaurant where we went the night we got engaged and then had our rehearsal dinner at. To stick with the traditional paper them (he later felt bad that he didn’t know about this and that I didn’t tell him), I got him a picture book. I think it is call “Me Without You” and it goes through and rhymes that would be like a ghost without boo, an owl without hoo, etc. Then I told him that each year on our anniversary, we would write in it what we did that year to celebrate and any highlights from the year.

We went to Jamaica so we agreed that our boarding passes would be our paper…but we both cheated and gave an extra paper gift. I wrote him a letter summarizing our first year, and he wrote me a poem (he is an amazing writer).

Our 1st wedding anniversary is this Sunday, and of course it’s the same day our volleyball league starts with our games being right over dinner time. How romantic :p Hopefully we can go out for lunch or something during the day or do something Saturday night instead. I am also sick with strep throat but will hopefully be better by then!

I named a star after my hubby for his gift. He lovesss looking at the stars and every now and then will take me out into the country and we’ll sit on the hood of his car to see shooting stars. So I thought it was a fitting gift, and it comes with a certificate and a few other things, so that’s the paper part!
