@Nikkimcq:  Hey date twin! I’m commenting to follow since I don’t know if there is anything else I should be bringing besides my bra, underwear, and shoes.

@Nikkimcq:  I think that sounds like a good start for the first fitting…my first fitting we only did the hem, but when i went back for my second fitting she told me to bring my jewelry and veil as well. 🙂

@Nikkimcq:  You got it.  They usually just ask for shoes for the hem portion and undergarments (including bras and slips/crinoline) for the body fit portion.

But that’s not to say you can’t bring EVERYTHING for your entire look – if you’re putting your dress on, you may as well see all of it again just for fun! I probably will.  😉

I’m having my first fitting today, so am following this for tips 🙂

I am bringing shoes (they’re flat sandels so doesn’t matter too much) but not too sure what to do about bras? I’m planning on either wearing nothing as there is a lot of structire and boning in the dress or I’ll have cups sewn in. So I guess it doesn’t matter.

I am planning on wearing shape wear to smooth things out but I haven’t purched it yet. Is that an issue?

@tropical_chic:  Shouldnt be an issue for your first fitting.  But let your seamstress know you’re planning to purchase – they may recommend you get it before the next fitting.

@Nikkimcq:  For seamstress purposes, you need your undergarmets and your shoes you will wear. For yourself, bring it all to see the look again! 😉

Excellent! Thanks for that, I will pop into the shops before I go. I know what I want, I just need to buy it.

Eeek! I’m seeing my dress for the first time this weekend, I’ve been waiting for three weeks until my sister was home and could come along! The seamstress is available so we might also do first fitting. I’m so excited! I’m taking my shoes, although I am not sure on them so I will probably hold off on getting the hem measured. Not planning on wearing a bra as it is corset style but they also sell underwear so I can always look.
