I've sung in three friends' weddings and I sang:
Come Away with Me - Norah Jones (outdoor interfaith wedding)
Grow Old With Me - John Lennon (but also performed by Trisha Yearwood) (Congregationalist/Christian church wedding)
There is Love - Paul Stookey (Catholic church wedding)
Hope that helps!
One of my bridesmaids will be performing "Til there was you" by the Beatles (also from The Music Man) during our ceremony :) Youtube it!

I went to a wedding on the weekend where fi was a groomsman, and I was sitting beside one of his friends and a bunch of people we didn't know. We had a great time and chatted all night. I discovered that he sings! He has an amazing voice, and would be honoured to sing at the ceremony.
BUT, I need to get him the song ASAP. What to choose?! He suggested 'Perhaps Love' (John Denver), because he has a backing track for it. It's okay, I guess, but I think we could come up with something better. I am quite keen on Ave Maria, but fi thinks that that is 'too Catholic' lol.
Any suggestions?! We are having quite a traditional wedding with all piano music (piano versions of songs like Ave Maria, You Raise Me Up, How Great Thou Art, and some instrumentals for while everyone's waiting for me; a piano version of Pachelbel's Canon for the BMs and I, and a piano version of Ode to Joy for the recessional). Christian is good/fine.
Is anyone else having a soloist? What is yours singing?!
