Ours had our names and then said "together with their parents invite you to...." It was a good way to get around it.
Mine say:
Mr. & Mrs. "Smith", request the honor of your presents at the wedding of their daughter, My-Name, to His-Name, son of "Jim Jones" and "Sue Jones".
I figured if they weren't listed as Mr. and Mrs. and they're names were seperated people would get the hint. I also OKed it with the future in-laws before I did it.
@PinkPandaBear: Who's paying for the wedding?
@KatNYC2011: FI and I are paying for almost all of it. It's a destination wedding so FI's dad is paying for some of the travel arrangements for his family (FI and I are paying our own) and my parents are paying for the cupcake tier. Does who's paying have to do with what goes on the invite? (I'm know next to nothing about wedding invitation ettiquette, so sorry if that sounds like a silly question :)
@PinkPandaBear: Yup, traditionally the names of the "hosts" of the wedding (i.e. those paying for it) appear on the invite.
Since you are mainly paying with some help from both your families I would just do the "Together with their parents" route on the invite.
@KatNYC2011:Good to know. I think that's exactly what I'm going to do! Thank you so much!

I'm getting ready to finally send out my invites and was preparing to word it all out when I realized I wasn't sure how to put this.
How would you word an invitation if one set of parents are divorced?
