I've been reading the posts on eyelash extensions, and had gotten to the point where I believed that I NEEDED them.  I finally mentioned it to my FI - he burst out laughing and said that if he could ask for one thing on our wedding day, it would be no fake eyelashes.

I love this man for bringing me back down to earth!  :)  We are so NOT FANCY (it's a miracle if I brush my hair in the morning), and it's a real stretch to imagine myself with eyelash extensions.  That said, I still understand lusting after them!

LOL I just put up a post around the same time as you asking if any girls have had them done :)

I've never seen them in person, but it appears that the "natural extensions" are so barely even noticiable....arggg...I'm still on the fence b/c if I'm going to spend so much money on them I want there to be a noticable difference.

Plus, my FI would kill me if he knew I was going to spend over $100 for some eyelashes that last 2 weeks :)

haha men are great sometimes. I think if I told my guy I wanted eyelash extensions he'd go "ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm what?"

lol. this is why you don't ask guys that question. he'd just see them, think you look fabulous, and not know the difference. you could chalk it up to mascara. :p

i didnt want to go as far as permanent extensions or anything, but i did rock some false lashes in my MU trial and LOVED the look...even FI, who had though the idea was "weird" had to admit it did enhance the look!

I had some semi-permanent ones put on today-- one of my bridesmaids bought them for me as a gift, so I went.

My fiance' knew I was going to get them done, and I still don't think he's noticed that I'm wearing them. lol.

I have been loving the last 12 hours, I feel so pretty.

haha I too read the posts and mentioned it to my FI and I too was met with laughter. I think he made a smart ass coment suggesting he get some sort of procedure, I don't remember. I told him I was being serious and he agreed that extended lashes would be okay for special occasions but I could not have eyelash extensions for everyday wear. I guess boys keep us in tough with reality but I'm still doing falsies for the wedding.

lol... maybe he has a picture in his head of ridiculously long eye lashes. . My FI's reaction would probably be the same.. but only because he would have no clue what they would look like.

My FI won't even notice my eyelash extensions-i love how they look in pics though so I am getting them done. he also grumbles about the $$ I spend on my hair and nails, when one day I was sick of it and I finally pointed out "do you think your 61 year old mother is a natural brunette with highlights?!" He was like 'my mother would never color her hair!" LOLOLOL.

    okay, buddy.

I totally get his reaction, because it sounds absolutely ridiculous. But to me, I've never had ANY eyelashes and it makes such a HUGe difference in how you look in person and in pictures I figure my wedding day is the one day I can justify doing something like that. So weather I get actual extensions or just a few fake pieces, I'm getting something!

Ok seriously all I can think about is making love to my husband for the first time and one of the false eyelashes falling out of my eye and either landing on his face or getting caught in my eye or something.

I have nice natural eyelashes, I don't care if the fake ones enhance "the look" I want to look like myself on my wedding day. No offense to anyone who's getting false ones. Just my opinion

I do eyelash extensions and I have to say, all of my clients who get them done for their wedding are super happy with them. They totally enhance the eye and look great in photos. They last about 4-6 weeks and don't look like "false" lashes. They look totally natural. Just wanted to clear the "eyelash falling onto husbands face" thing that someone had posted previous. Good luck with your wedding!

@Br1tSh1n1ngStar  lol!!!  This is so HILARIOUS!  :)  I never would have thought of it, but you're right - I would start to freak out about that about 2min after leaving the reception.  :)  I totally understand the feeling that you want to look like yourself.  That's what I'm thinking, although an "enhanced" version of myself would be okay too.  I mean, I don't usually waltz around in a white dress, you know?  :)

@ fiftyfootbride: Yeah, I should have just shut my mouth and done what I wanted, but I really don't have the wiggle room in the budget for this (getting my hair done will be a stretch), and sometimes I like to provoke him into complimenting my "natural beauty."  :)  Although the snort he let out wasn't particularly complimentary, come to think of it.

    :p

Well, you could just get a really fab mascara. I know Diorshow Blackout is SUPER intense. It'll make you look like you have false lashes on. (Or that thickness, rather). Diorshow regular is also pretty intense, but is more natural than the blackout.

I'm very fair and have dark dark dark brown hair and dark blue eyes, and I wear Diorshow Blackout on a daily basis. It does also depend on your coloration.

I don't know if you've tried the L'oreal Beauty Tubes mascara, but it's crazy!  It really does brush little "extensions" on.  I can tell a huge difference with it on, and so could FI.  It's the only mascara I've ever used that did anything close to what it claimed on the commercial.  It doesn't smear either.  Is a little strange once you take it off though, and see the little "tubes".

I've always wanted to try that. I love attacking drugstore stuff. Is it waterproof?

Fiberwig is also some pretty ridonk mascara. It has lots of little tiny fibers in it so it paints on extensions.

Yea it is waterproof.  And I mean you have to work to get that stuff off!  I've fallen asleep (passed out, same difference LOL) in it before and it still looks perfect in the morning.  still no smears or anything.  It's cheap and good.  Doesn't get any better for me!  Smile

How about the mascara with the tubes in it that elongate and lengthen?  I have some and can't remember who they're by but they do elongate them quite alot!

My guy has a standard line regarding me and my looks for the wedding.

His response to anything I'd do.."Whatever.  All I care is you look hot."

I guess I gots me some wiggle room with that!!! lmao!

Sweet - thanks for the mascara recommendations!  I'm stopping by the store on the way home tonight, so I'll pick up some mascara to try out.  I haven't worn it in... probably 5 years?  Sheesh.  :)

I have an excellent lengthening mascara from Avon. I usually shop drugstore, but my FMIL had extras of these and gave me one. OMG- My eyelashes look like a babydolls. They are usually kinda short, not very thick, not very noticeable, but when I use this mascara, it's like red carpet ready. Sometimes that's all I wear!

It has the white fiber packed end and the black mascara end. The white stuff sticks to the lashes and lengthend them dramatically. Then the black stuff coats and plumps. I've also used the white fiber stuff first and then used a totally different waterproof mascara on top and tht worked really well.

:)*Longest Lashes Ever* is the name.

All right, I started with the L'oreal Beauty Tubes stuff (I can buy it and chocolate at the same time!  Win win!), and I have to say it's pretty cool.  I've only worn it once, (at home, to watch a movie) but it certainly did lengthen my lashes.  I, um, actually forgot about it until I came back to this thread, but I'm going to wear it today, this time in front of other people.  Tongue out Mascara trials, here I come!
