I don’t have one, but I am definitely going to be in the market to buy one soon so following this thread. I’m currently looking at the FitBit One, but unsure if there are better options.

I was stuck between buying the Jawbone Up and the Fitbit. I chose the Fitbit and i haven’t regretted it once. The battery life is great, and it has all of the features i need.

The only negative thing i would say about the fitbit is that if you buy a lighter colored replacement band (i have the mint), it gets dirty easily, and was somewhat difficult to clean. I ended up using a magic eraser and it worked (:

Whichever you choose, you will really enjoy having a tracker. It is such a motivator!

I’m commenting to follow. I just got the fitbit flex and I’ve only been wearing it for 2 days. So far, so good…It tracks my steps, calories and sleep. But I don’t have enough experience with it yet to fully give you a review.

I replied on that thread from a few weeks ago.  I still love my Fitbit One.  It’s hard to know which is best because it’s not like you can try them all out before you buy.  I’m not a super active fit person, so I wasn’t too concerned with a lot of extra features.  Let me know if you have any specific questions!

I should mention, I linked my fitbit with myfitnesspal, which I love. I’m not sure if you can do that with the other trackers (you might be able to) but I think it’s a great feature. It keeps me motivated to not only move, but to keep up with tracking my calories.

I have the Nike Fuelband.  I used it for about a week, and then haven’t worn it since.  Its basically a pedometer that counts your steps and calcualtes your calories burned.  The only problem is that it is estimating your calories based on a pre-programmed algorithm which makes it inaccuarate (basically it is not measurning the power or energy your are putting out).

For instance 1000 steps you take on a flat road is not equal to 1000 steps at a 6.0 mph run or even a 1000 step hike up a steep mountain.

I found it to basically be a motivational tool to get you moving – example: wanting to walk to store rather than drive so you can get a few extra steps in.

I have a FitBit Flex and I LOVE it! I did a ton of research and it’s definitely the right band for me. The Nike Fuelbands don’t work with Android phones (or at least they didn’t 6 months ago when I was researching), and the Jawbone doesn’t have a screen so it’s just not as helpful. The older Jawbones don’t even sync with your phone wirelessly, which is a pain! I’ve been using my FitBit for ~6 months and it’s perfect for me. It really does motivate me to exercise more so I hit my 10,000 steps/day goal!

RhianfaHW:  The FitBit is perfect for that.  I just wanted to see how much I was moving and motivate myself to walk more!  You just need to decide if you want to wear the bracelet or not.  I also like the One because it tracks flights of stairs climbed.

RhianfaHW:  I had the fitbit Flex for about 5 months, and my husband had the Jawbone Up. For Christmas, he got me the fitbit Force and I gave him the Flex. Well, I had a reaction to the Force, which is now off the market, and I downgraded to the fitbit One. I like the One, because it measures the amount of stairs you’ve stepped and has a clock display, which are the improvements I was going for on the Force.

Fitbit says they’re coming up with a wristband that’s even better than the Force, and won’t have the reactions associated with it, so if you’re okay with a wristband that doesn’t have a clock display, then the Flex is very good. I like the metrics with Fitbit a lot.

RhianfaHW:  Yup, I wear it almost 24/7! It doesn’t bother me at all when I sleep, and I like to track my hours of sleep and use it as a silent alarm clock. (It vibrates softly, so it doesn’t wake up my hubby.) I take it off when I shower (it’s supposedly water-resistant but I don’t want to risk it!) and of course I take it off if I’m dressing up – but other than that, I wear it pretty much all the time. I find it really comfortable and I forget I’m wearing it.
