I am working on loosing some weight for my wedding next August… I haven’t seen a lot of success lately but I just started and am having troubes staying on an exersize routine.
Anyways, I have been working out of Wii fit plus and so far have been enjoying it. The only thing that leaves me wanting is a good 30 minutes of good, fat burning activity. My FI and I recently purchased a PS3 along with the Move. I bought the Zumba program thinking that i could switch off between the two different programs a few days a week. So far I have not been impressed with the Zumba program. It is part do to the PS3 controller (too many buttons and it is hard to keep both the controllers charged up) but I am also anoyed with the Zumba menu. I am not very cordinated and it is difficult to learn the moves and all the camera seams to care about is that the glowing ball is in the right spot… (I was doing a simple foot movement for a long time yet it would breeze though the harder movements that I would have liked more time on) I have shut the program off twice during the tutorial area without getting any farther! (my FI originally wanted to get the move because he didn’t trust that the Wii censors could properely calculate movements..)
My FI’s buddies have the Dance (or Just Dance) program and I enjoyed that. I felt like it was a lot easier to follow the dance moves… the PS3 is getting Just Dance 3 in Oct and I am thinking about getting it but am still a little aprehensive of the controllers.
Does anyone have any suggestions on fitness games that have been working (or not working) for them.

Don’t worry about your score in the game, I do the Zumba and the Dance game on Kinect and I love it. I don’t necessarily keep up but it gets me moving. Sometimes I’ll do 2 of the Zumba routines just to extend the time of my work out. A lot of times it tells me to do something differently and I’m not great at knowing all of the moves but I just make sure I keep moving.

I just got the Gold’s Gym dance workout for the Wii and I like it alot. It offers dance training and some kickboxing type training and some other games. I felt like it gave me a much better workout than Wii Fit Plus or Just Dance.

I like the Kinect for Xbox 360 over the Wii and PS3 Move. I have tried/owned all three. The Move was promptly returned.
Great games for ARMS: Kinect Sports (boxing), Fruit Ninja Kinect
Great games for CARDIO: Dance Central, Dance Masters, Zumba Fitness
Great games for LEGS: Zumba Fitness, Kinect Adventures
Dance Central 2 and Just Dance 3 are coming out soon for Kinect too.

I have the Zumba for Wii, and I have found that I have to do TONS of hip movements in order to get it to recognize it. Which is good in the end, because I work harder! With that, I would just say, mimic the movements and forget about the score! All the score really gets you is different backgrounds, so no biggie!

I bought the Wii gold gym dance one and am liking it so far. (althoguh I am a little anoyed with following all of the foot movements). I definately am likeing the boxing though. My main problem with the Zumba I think was partially I wasn’t able to pick up any of the movements before the progam thought I had them (due to the glowing ball) and then would skip over to the next. All of a sudden the person on the screen was flying though each movement I was a mess not being able to follow anything then back on the couch frusterated!
I am wishing we had bought the Kinect over the Move… my FI’s console of choice is the xbox and I feel that there conrollers are easier to manage…. The main reason we got the Move was because we have limited space infront of our tv and thoguht that the Move would better acomidate the lack of space because it still has a controller along with its video capabilities…

I own Zumba for PS3, and I LOVE IT. I also own the Zumba Exhilarate DVD set.
The Move controller isn’t entirely acurate, so watching the little bar at the bottom drives me nuts. So I wear the Move controller on my wrist…and wiggle it if it doesn’t stay green.
It helps. It’s not really cheating, because I am still giving it my all and working out really hard. 🙂
