Does anyone use some type of fitness tracker? I am usually pretty good with diet (when trying) but really need a kick in the booty when it comes to fitness.
Does anyone use a pedometer that they like/that works well? Active Link (I am on the weight watchers program)? Fit bit? I have never purchased any of these and am competitive, so I’m hoping that it might get me to compete with myself.
What do y’all reccomend?

I want the new Fitbit when it comes out, but in the meantime I use my phone with the RunKeeper app. It tracks my calories, distance, speed, elevation, and a bunch of other stuff. It works for what I use it for, but I’d rather have a Fitbit for the sleep tracker and constant tracking of motion.

I have a fitbit and I love it. I want the new one when it comes out, but for now I have the fitbit one. It clips to my bra and nobody even knows I have it on. The app that they have for iphones is really helpful also.

I’ve been using the Striiv app. It calculates your steps based on GPS and the length of your stride. It does use data, so only get it if you have unlimited or lots of data!! 🙂

I just started runkeeper on my phone. It’s a free app. I don’t use it for tracking weight, but I believe it has a setting to do that.
I like how I can start it when running.. and it will update me every certain miles/time set how far, how fast, I’ve gone.

@mrshunnybunches: I do have unlimited data… that sounds just like what im looking for, i might have to look that up!
@Little_Miss_Giggles: does the fitbit monitor ALL activity like swimming and dancing and such? Or just walking and running?

@mrswestcoast: I have a fitbit one. I like it, but its really just a pedomenter that tracks steps through body vibrations and stairs through elevation changes. If you are trying to monitor ACTIVITY you want something different, fitbit isn’t waterproof so its out at the pool. i think you need something more like a heart rate monitor. Fitbit is great for giving me an idea of how active i was each day (and how many times i move at night), if thats all your looking for. I don’t think you should buy it if you are trying to get exact numbers on calories burned or something like that though. IMO.

I have a fitbit one and a polar hr monitor. I wear the fitbit all the time and only wear the polar when I work out.

Big fan of the polar hr monitor, too. And I have the Runmeter app on my phone for distance/pace tracking.

I have a Fitbit One — I LOVE it! However, for actual activities, I use the runkeeper app. I have the FitBit, Runkeeper, and MyFitnessPal apps all linked.
