At this point I'm going to have to shift my workout from mass-building to fat-burning. I build muscle really fast and I've gained almost an inch on my waist just from the bulk of my abs.
More cardio, less power-cleans! Hopefully I'll be able to lean out over the next couple of months!
I really need to work on my arms and my tummy.
DH and I are doing spin classes together 3-4 times a week and I am doing body pump twice a week.
On the weekend, we try to do something outside together, hiking, canoeing or even just a walk.
I am loosely following WW now and plan to follow it more rigorously when our vacation is over later in August.
I got an iPhone app, free, called "MyFitnessPal." It counts calories for me when I enter what I've eaten or how long I've worked out doing what.
So far, so good--lost a pound in a week and a half, which is about what I set for the goal... (it lets you choose your own goals.)
@bridget.sutter: I am SUPER interested in kettlebells. Are you going to a trainer or doing the workouts at home? I've been doing tons of research on kettlebell dvd's and have found some certified trainer kettlebell dvd's (Jessica Huthmaker, Sarah Lurie and Lauren Brooks) that look like they'd be safe and effective. From what I'm reading Jillian Michaels kettlebell workout is absolutely horrendous and she doesn't practice safe form. I'm trying to drop 15-20 lbs in the next 2 months, how often are you working with them?
@ENarcy: I signed up for a 2 week fat flush program at a local gym. So the class has been less than 6 people (I live ina small town) and the trainer. They have taken the time to focus on us "newbies" after instructing the class, to make sure we use proper form. I am amazed at how much I can do! I was worried about being the most unhealthy over weight person there, but the class was full of all shapes and sizes.
They guarantee you to lose 6 inches and 5 lbs in the 2 week class, so long as you come 3 times per week and follow the food plan (1200 calories/day focus on low carb, high protien, lots of fish and vegetables).
I see no reason what so ever that a person who needed to lose 15-20lbs couldnt do it in 2 months with this workout.
It is hard work though! I couldnt make it to the class this morning and my body is starting to stiffen up! I can't wait for tomorrows class so I can loosen up again!
The gym here costs $130-$150/mo depending on the term you sign up for so I am thinking baout getting a dvd for at home. Although, personally, having to go some place where I can "compete" with the person next to me helps keep me motivated!
Is counting calories really hard? How are you keeping track? I'm thinking about buying a kettleball.. I need to lost 15-20 pounds by October! AHHHHHH
I've lost 20 pounds eating and doing the C25K. I have 10 more to go this month and i've lost 2 pounds already. 80% of losing the weight is eating right. I dont drink anything but water and barely have any cards. Mostly protein and veggies.
Spinning a few times a week
Pilates about once a week
Yoga for off days (DVD at home or at the yoga studio) and to "re-charge"
This has completely changed my body for the better and I feel amazing!
Also, I take Genesis Today supplimetns like Power4 which gives me great energy and regulates my blood sugars so I don't want to overeat and binge.
I have started going to the gym during my lunch break (we have a gym in the building). It works out perfectly because at the time I go TLC has on wedding themed shows (Say Yes to the Dress, Four Weddings, etc.) so it really gives me that extra push I need to get through the work out. I have been going almost every day since last Tuesday (I was off on Friday and too tired from traveling over the weekend on Monday). I'm hoping to see some sort of results soon.
I am using livestrong.com on my pc and my cell phone to track calories. I love that website. Best of all it's free!
I go to a Zumba class 3-4 times per week, and then use some weights for my arms. I LOVE the Zumba class!
I had been walking 4-6 miles 3x per week, but I lost my motivation... I really need to get it together again... I don't know why I am so unmotivated... smh
I AM GOING TO DO A METAGENICS 10 DAY DETOX WITH MY FI (YAY) AND YOGA HAS BEEN MY FRIEND.
Im doing low-carb, no more than 40 carbs and I hav lost 14 pounds in 2 months without really exercising reg, however I am a nurse and spend 30 plus hours on my feet. I make sure I have a cheat day at least every 2 weeks and make sure I change up my menu every two weeks as well. So far so good:)
I am counting calories, using Calorieking, doing yoga and swimming 5 days a week. I've lost almost 20 pounds in about 8 weeks and my fiance has lost over 30.

I am the proud owner of 5 wedding dresses. I got a great deal on all of them. I bought 4 via the internet from a bridal shop going out of business sale. I wear a street size 16/18, some days a 20... The dresses I bought were 14's and 16's. Only one was close to fitting in february when I bought them. As the weeks went by I began to hate the dress more and more. I then changed my mind on the style I wanted.
At this point I have settled on 2 dresses - a ceremony dress with a long train and lace coat and I bought the 5th dress through a consignment shop. It is all lace and I am getting it altered into a 50's style swing dress for the reception.
3 weeks ago I met with a lady that could do alterations. I was thinking I would have to put corset backs into each dress. She made my day when she told me I was only 3" from being able to zip them both up all the way!
I went into diet mode and started counting calories. Not having to let out or corset the dresses could save me over $150...
I have lost 10lbs in 3 weeks, not enough to drop 3" in the chest and waist areas.
Last Saturday I started kettlebells. HOLY SMOKES! It is fun, but it kicks your butt! Last night my mom was over and I tried both dresses on again and only have 1" more to go to make them fit! and that was without foundation garments to pull things in.
I can do this ladies! I am so excited!
What are you doing to make sure your dress fits great?
Working out?
Bought a great corset/foundation garment?
