I'm all abuzz about my wedding dress...and not in a good way!  I found it soon after the boy and I were engaged and it is everything I ever dreamed about....well it would be if I had dreamed about my wedding dress!  In all honesty I went into the whole thing with no idea what I wanted.  That said, the saying holds true and you know when you've found "The One."  (I guess it's kind of like finding your fiance!)  Anyway, I'm rambling.  So I found my dress, fell in love, and had it ordered.  Perfection...except I have one little itty bitty fear.  Pre dress shopping I had lost a little bit of weight (nothing significant) and when they sized me to place the initial order they said I should have it made in a 0.  Normally I'm a size 2 and I mentioned this but the woman assisting me said I had a few inches before I would be a 2 and to order such a size wouldn't make sense.  I took her word for it and ordered the dress and since then I have been crazy worried that I will gain weight and not fit into the teeny tiny 0!!  I have not gained a pound yet but my wedding isn't until July.  I'm hoping that a few extra pounds won't mean a thing...I'm guessing that they will creep on as much of the loss was post engagement excitement and nerves!  I guess what I'm asking is should I be anxious?  If I gain a little will they be able to adjust the fit?  That's what a fitting is for, right!??  The dress takes 8 months to make and was a somewhat lavish gift from my parents...I'd hate to see the whole thing fall victim to my obsessive sweet tooth!

I TOTALLY understand how you feel!  I got really sick before we went dress shopping and was down 25lbs so the dress I ordered was a small size.  Then I went on medicine that promptly made me gain all the weight plus some back and had my first fitting where the dress wouldn't zip!!!  (total meltdown!) They were SO nice about it though and I had the seamstress give me the measurements I needed to be to fit into the dress -- that's really helpful!  That way if you gain weight (or feel like you're gaining weight) you can check your measurements to make sure you're ok!  Also, they can generally let dresses out a bit.  I'm sure you'll be fine!

Don't stress too much-- they can always let it out a bit, depending on the style of the dress.  Do you have pics?  If they said there were several inches before you'd need a 2, I think you'd be fine.  I agree with the PP about calling the dress salon and asking them for the measurements of the 0.

That's exactly what I needed to hear!!  I still have months to go before July and I don't want to spend the entire time stressing about a few additional pounds!  I guess I should just breathe easy and enjoy the engagement process...we'll deal with the fittings when they come!  That said, I may find myself freaking out again soon enough!  Ha!!

I'm not sure what the style of your dress is, but many dresses can also have the zipper removed and a laced corset back added in, if it turns out you need lots more inches of room.  But I'm sure you'll be fine!
