As long as you do it with about 6-8 weeks to spare I think it should be ok...
Even now 10 years after I got my tatt I just make sure to apply suncream to it every time I am in the sun and all is good (I got mine just before the Australia summer when I was 18 and even thou I was not as sun smart back then I still added sun cream to it and it was all good :))
Second that... just leave time so that the scabs can heal properly before the big day. After that... plenty of sunscreen!
As a tattoo addict I would say you definately need to give your new tattoo 6 weeks to fully heal, not just from the sun's UV rays point of view, but also you are going to want to go swimming etc - and 'soaking' a fresh tattoo can cause the ink to leak.
Then I agree with the other bees - a factor 30+ sunscreen is a must for all tattoos new or old if you want to maintain good ink colour for the future

Our wedding is at a sandals in May and 7 of our closest friend couples are not only coming they are staying at our resort for 3-6 days. So they will be hanging out with us on the beach and poolside. I have a lower back tattoo that my ex-BFF scratched up when it was trying to heal after I got it many years ago and that left some uneven coloring. I was thinking about getting it fixed but also thinking the sun after a fresh tattoo might not be such a good idea.
Anyone ever fix their tattoo than go on vaction or a honeymoon in the sun? How did that work out?
Thanks.
