drugs.com is a great resource. Pharmacists use it but it’s in lay language. I would trust a legit site over an internet forum.

motherisk.org is another great resource for drugs during various stages of pregnancy that will likely have more specific info for you.

It’s most likely fine. You’re not on it long term and it takes days at least for the egg to get fertilized and implant. But if you’re concerned look for it on the website PP mentioned to be safe.

brinny04:  I have a flagyl allergy too. It’s the only medicine I’ve ever been allergic to.

alaska_99705:  Sorry, I have had issues with recurring BV and it sucks. I was having issues last spring and was taking Flagyl all the time as well as a ton of probiotics. I still got pregnant on the first try! Once I was pregnant though they had me stop taking anything and luckily it stayed away for a little while. Then at 11 weeks I had bleeding and throught I was loosing the baby. Turns out it was just BV irritating my cervix and making it bleed. They made me wait until 12 weeks and then put me back on Flagyl and Probiotics.

I had recurring BV all through my pregnancy. I would say that if you are prone to it, have them check you for it periodically throughout the pregnancy. Even if you don’t have any symptoms as my BV symptoms were a bit different during pregnancy. BV can cause preterm labor by causing your water to break early so it is important to get tested and take the meds. I am happy to say that the kind of ‘reset’ of hormons after I gave birth took care of the BV! My DD is now 3 months old and I haven’t had it since she was born.
