Can you ask the groomsmend to be measured at an alterations place, and just send them to another local Tux rental company?
We're kind of having a destination wedding and getting married in a pretty rural part of upstate NY. I'm worried about a mom and pop type tux place altering 7 tuxedos the day before the wedding. And being that it's the middle of nowhere, if something's not right- we're pretty much screwed.
I had hoped that all the GMs and fathers would just go to a local shop of a chain and travel with their tux to the wedding.
I know After six hasa tuxedo line. So similar to bridesmaids, you could pick a style, and they could get their tux before the wedding in their local area based on who carries that designer...you'd juat have to trust that the guys can order the right the designer, style, and colors they need.
Not sure. Since it's not a through a chain retailer, I think it depends on location. But their bridesmaid dresses were, in my opinion, reasonably prices in the 100s.
Just to follow up- we wound up getting them from a small local New England chain (Classic Tuxedo). I was worried since some of the guys wouldn't be able to try the tuxes on in store before the wedding. But everything was fine- all the tuxes were right.
Also follow up of a sort, Men's Wearhouse does now rent flat front pants for at least 2 of their tux styles. The Calvin Klein Super 100's in one and two button. I believe the CK Shadow Stripe also comes with the flat front option. I'm not sure when they added these to the lines, but they're definitely available now. The only question would be whether they're available in all regions, since certain styles are not available everywhere. The Nehru Collar, for example, is not available in the southeast region. Just FYI!

I find this hard to believe but MW Tux (which is Men's Warehouse, Afterhours Formalwear, and Mr. Tux all rolled into one crappy conglomerate) does not rent flat front tuxedo pants.
My FI and I went there tonight for him to pick a tux. When he came out in the unflattering poofy pleated pants I said to the woman helping us that we definitely wanted to go with flat front pants.
She said MW Tux doesn't carry them because a flat front pant isn't a tuxedo, it's a suit. She said that they sold flat front tuxedo pants that we could buy for $100 but they didn't match any of the jackets they rent! What a great solution! I'll pay money so my groom can be mismatched on our wedding day!
I don't know what to do. We have GMs in Seattle, North Carolina, NY and Boston. The only national chains now seem to be owned my MW Tux.
Any advice?
