Hello.. so my wedding is around the corner…8 days! Doing all the last minute things, and decided to do a flip flop basket for the reception.
I paired them & put the size on each like this (using hair scrunchies!)
I had these baskets already..and they worked out perfectly.. I divided them up by sizes…(size 6-7, sizes 8-9, sizes 9-10 because the set came with the most size 9s)
HERES WHERE I NEED HELP!!
PROBLEM # 1: I want to use those wire spiral picture holders, put them in each basket and write the sizes. I went to Michaels found some on clearance…and look how adorable these are…
I really want to use them but I do not know how, they are much smaller than I wanted (I wanted the spiral to be above the flip flops to easily see the paper with the sizes), but figured I could somehow place each some where on each basket… any ideas?? Here’s a way to get an idea of the size….
PROBLEM # 2: While at Michael’s I also found this really cute sign, meant to be hung and decided I could use it..for $6, it was worth getting any playing around with… But i’m not sure what to do with it? Undo the wire and put it through the handles so it hangs? Something easy to do.. I really do not have much time with all I have to get done this week… but I’m open to any suggestions!!!!!
I’ll throw in 1 more picture… lol.
Please let me know what you think, what ideas you have, etc. THANK YOU

On the small sandal with the wire sign holder I would glue it to the top edge of the basket so the size sits up high. For the sign maybe you culd hang it behind the baskets.

@15happyyears: So for the flip flop stand you think I should glue it to corner of the top or slighly down a bit? The same place for all 3 baskets? What do u mean by hang it in the back? How would you hang it? Also, whats the best type of glue to us?
Thank you for the suggestions and ideas!

I would hang the sign on the wall behind the baskets. You can use a Command Hook if necessary. I can’t tell if it has holes to hang a ribbon through or not. If not, I would drill a hole in each upper corner and hand from a ribbon.
For the card holder flipflop, I would glue the sole of the flipflop to the side of the basket and bend the wire up to hold a card which states the size of the flip flops in that basket.

@julies1949: I has a wire, but the place I am having the reception will not allow anything to be nailed/screwed into the walls or anything.. so I couldn’t do that.. and I’m not completely positive where I will have them located at the reception…probably by our sweet heart table thats in front of the dance floor..
I really like the idea of bending the wire for the flip flop! Best glue to use, the baskets are canvas??

If you attach the flip flop holder to a clear clip (or colored) it would be more sturdy. I think that will work well and look good too! I found a few pictures and a link for you:
For the sign, it all depends on where youre planning on putting those baskets (I LOVE the sign by the way, so cute!). If you are putting them on a table, it would be cute to have a table cloth and hang the sign off the edge of it in front, kinda like this:
but you know, with a sign.
If they are going to be on the floor or something, just put it on the wall right behind it. If its not near a wall, you could always make a post very easily and hang the sign on that. You would only need to have a wide square piece with a 2×4 sticking out of it, or make a little “X” with 2×4’s and another straight up with a nail to attack it to!
(like this, but square bottom…or even a heart!)
Hope this helps! Good luck with everything and Congrats!

Maybe you could put the sign on a small tabletop easel so it will sit up like a painting. Then just set the easel near the flip flops. I know they sell them at Michael’s. While at Michael’s ask what type of glue to use on your baskets. They look like they are made of fabric in the pic. You definately want something that works well with fabrics.

Something like one of these.

You don’t have to drill into the wall to use a Command Hook. They are made by 3M.
After you are done with them you just pull the tab and the hook comes off the wall without leaving any mark.
You can get them at any home store, Target or Walmart.

thank you all!! I was able to use one of those mini easels for the sign and found a way to put the flip flops on by accident. Was at target and was checking out and saw this lady in front of me getting mounting velcro, I asked her how it works…told her what I was doing and she told me to try it out! I can always remove it and reuse those baskets again… so I got it and it works perfectly..Heres how it ended up looking (i know the background is a mess..full of wedding things!):
Now I am just going to put a sign that says one of those cute poem sayings and i’m done!
Let me know what you think! I did the signs and everything really quick..less than 20mins, but I think it came out pretty good…lol
