I also don't see many guys participating in that. I say have them just for the ladies.
A wedding I was in recently, they got them for the guys too, but I don't think one single guy used them. I'd save your money and just get them for the ladies - we all wore them!
Just ladies. Guys will never use them. We're also sticking some of those slipper socks with the grippers on the bottom for older folks. Even if they don't use them, they'll probably just take them ;o)
We did them, we still have a box left, a few people took them at the end of night as souviners, but I would just caution on not buying too many.
Guys will not remove their shoes so don't even bother with that.
For those who have done the baskets, how did you figure out how many pairs to get and what sizes?
Just the ladies
The point of the flip flop basket is that women can take off their heels. Men are already wearing "comfy" shoes compared to the ladies.
So yes....just flip flops for the ladies :-)
Trailmix, I have a bunch of flip flops (and Chinese cotton Mary Janes) for sale at this link.
TMix- I picked a bunch of Old nacy ones during one of their sales, not sure if they are seasonal only though
just for the girls! it'd be funny to see men wearing flip flops with their socks still on like a geisha :P
Another vote for just the ladies! My FI hates flip flops - the thong part hurts is uncomfortable in between his toes. I just don't see guys taking off their shoes for flip flops - its probably more of an issues for ladies wearing painful, but beautiful, heels.
Flip flops are incredibly difficult to dance in. Also, while some women may take their shoes off to dance, men will not for any reason.
Trailmix- Last year old navy had a $1 flip flop sale in May. You might want to be on the lookout for that again this year!
I got them for just the girls and got generic size L for all pairs. It doesn't really matter if they are a perfect fit, its just for comfort. I got 8 pairs and I had about 18 women at the wedding. I bought them at Joann Fabrics for about 50 cents apiece.
@TrailMix: My mom got ours at the Claire's outlet! They have that 10 items for $10 sale or whatever and she got ones that match our colors with little rhinestones -- cute! She just got the generic medium or large size (I can't remember)
I think we're just going to put out the 10 pairs. I'll be getting nice flips for my BMs separately so 10 should cover anyone else that might take their shoes off.
Thanks everyone!!
@hotchilinthecity: I love the idea of getting nice ones just for the BMs!
@TingTing: That would be hilarious!
I was think I'm going to get mine from Old Navy. Right now online they are 2.50 each and they have colors that coordinate with my wedding :)
Ummm what I meant to say was...
I was thinking of getting mine from Old Navy!
Guess I should read before I submit! haha!
I got mine from www.partyflops.com they are personalized with your monogram
thanks
Coco

So I love the flip flop trend for receptions, but I'm not quite sure how to execute. Do you need to have flip flops for the guys too? I just don't see guys talking off their shoes and socks for this..
What do you think?
