As a bridesmaid, would you like to get a pair of flip flops as (part of) a gift for the reception? I've been debating on doing this. If I did, they would be cheap (less than $5 a pair). My wedding is in October so it's kind of out of the season. Also, I tend to find flip flops hard to dance in.

Any thoughts on this? I seriously cannot make up my mind on something so simple! :)

Personally, I wouldn't change into flip flops at the reception; I'd rather keep my shoes on. But I would probably use them when the weather gets warmer!

I love flip flops.  I would totally appreciate a pair to slip on to rest my weary tooties at the reception.  I've seen where some bee's are super creative and decorate the ones they buy for their girls with rhinestones, etc.  I think that would be an amazing and most appreciated gift.

I love flip flops and at most weddings I go to all the girls are in them by the end of the night!

I would love it as part as my gift!

I got flip flops as one of their gifts and just dressed them up a little. I asked my bridesmaids if they wanted them and they said definately. Just ask your BM and get they're opinion.

My sister is MOH and she said she would like them. Luckily, their dresses are black so they should be easy to find!

Ok thank you for making up my minds haha! Now, would Old Navy be a good place to purchase or do you know of something easier/better? Again, I'm probably just looking for basic (cheap) black ones.

    Thanks again!

I was in Old Navy yesterday and they had some decent quality ones on sale for 2 pair for $5.00.

Old Navy is where I got mine. Like Maggie Mae said 2 for $5. I wrapped the part that goes between the toes with ribbon and added a few rhinestones. super cute!

I bought flip flops for my BMs.  I'll be putting them into a tote bag as part of a bridesmaids survival kit for the day of the wedding.  If they want to, they can change into the flip flops for dancing.  We'll also have a basket of flip flops for our guests to use on the dance floor.  FI and I went to Old Navy when they were having the $1 flip flop sale and stocked up.

I don't ever wear flipflops to dance/walk around in, just to the beach/pool etc, so if I were your BM, I wouldn't wear them at your wedding... however, I would totally love them anyways because I would, indeed, wear them during the summer months when I'm at said beach or pool!  It would remind me of my fun time as your BM, so I'd love it even though I'm typically not a flipflop wearer. :)

I did this for my bridesmaids. It is only one part of their gift and I got them a pair in their favorite color. I figure that if people want to change into them they can and if not they can keep them for later. If they never wear them it was honestly only $1-$2.50 I spent on them (there was a really good sale online!) so I wouldn't be heartbroken.

Personally I would change into flip flops!!

I have seen them at Michaels for $1 and my mom saw the same deal on the other side of the country.  With the those crazy coupons that michaels always have I think you could get them like 40% off.  I bought a bunch and I just going to put them in a basket for anyone who wants them so they can choose.  And for that price if you have leftovers I mean who doesn't always need more flip flops?  I would jump on the Michaels deal though because when I saw them they were on the curb outside meaning they were at heavy clearance so the deal might not be around much longer.

I was thinking about it but their BM Dresses are long. Most of them are getting their dresses fitted & hemmed. If they change from their heels to flip flops they might be tripping all over their dresses all night.

Thanks for the advice! i ended up going to Old Navy and getting them black flip flops for 2/$5. Their dresses are knee length and black. Also, I was in a wedding this past weekend and changed into flips b/c my shoes were killing me - so it worked out well!

My one bridesmaid actually used hers during photos.  We did a decent amount of walking and her feet were killing her.  I changed into mine for the last two hours of the reception.  As soon as the photographers left, I was outta those shoes!
